Each tier bundles two priced units together: seats and compute units. Seats count active users on the platform, while compute units measure worker capacity (a standard 2GB worker equals one compute unit). Basic Tier includes 10 seats and 4 compute units. Standard Tier includes 40 seats and 20 compute units. Large Tier includes 100 seats and 40 compute units. You pick the tier that matches your user count and worker needs; capacity scales upward across the three tiers.

What exactly counts as one seat, and how are operators or external users billed?
A seat is a user active on the platform in the last 30 days. A regular user counts as one seat. An operator, who can only run scripts, flows, and apps, counts as half a seat. Each unique external JWT user also counts as half a seat.
What defines one compute unit, and how do worker sizes affect the count?
One compute unit equals 2 worker-GB-month. A standard worker with 2GB memory counts as one compute unit. Workers above 2GB count as two units, capped on self-hosted. One native worker, running 8 native subworkers, also counts as one compute unit.
What happens if my seat or compute usage exceeds the tier I purchased?
Windmill tracks usage through telemetry reported to the platform. If usage exceeds your subscription terms, Windmill notifies you and gives 35 days to adjust before the license key stops auto-renewing. You can clarify inaccurate telemetry, reduce usage, or move to a tier with higher capacity.
