All 21 options run the same pre-configured Ntopng software; they differ only in the underlying compute size you select. Smaller types like t2.nano, t3.nano, and t3a.micro give lighter capacity, while larger types such as t2.2xlarge, t2.xlarge, m5.large, and m4.large give more. The t2, t3, and t3a families offer general-purpose sizing, and the m-series adds balanced memory options. Your hourly cost scales with the instance size you choose, so you match spend to your workload and turn it off when idle.

What do I actually get when I select an instance type like t3.medium or m5.large?
Each option launches one Amazon EC2 virtual machine running the pre-configured Ntopng software. The instance type sets your compute size, memory, and CPU. You are billed per hour for that running machine. Larger types give more capacity; smaller types like t2.nano give lighter capacity.
Am I charged when my instance is stopped or idle?
Hourly software charges apply only while the instance runs. If you stop the instance, the per-hour software charge stops accruing. You can turn it off when idle to control spend. Note that underlying AWS storage tied to a stopped instance may still incur separate AWS fees.
Can I switch to a different instance size later if my monitoring load changes?
Yes. All 21 options run the same Ntopng software, so you are not locked into one size. You can stop the instance and relaunch on another supported type. Billing then follows the new type's hourly rate. This lets you match compute to changing network traffic volume.
