Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour based on the GPU instance type you launch. Each dimension maps to a specific AWS GPU instance from the G and P families, such as g4dn, g5, g3, g2, p2, and p3. Prices scale with instance size, so larger instances with more vCPUs, memory, and GPU capacity cost more per hour. This charge applies on top of your AWS infrastructure fees. You choose the instance that fits your workload; there are no fixed tiers or upfront commitments.

Each dimension maps to a specific AWS GPU instance from the G or P families. The instance you pick sets the vCPUs, memory, and GPU capacity you receive. The image bundles NICE DCV remote display and NVIDIA Tesla GPU drivers on Ubuntu 20.04. You choose the instance that matches your workload.
The hourly software charge meters running time only. A stopped instance does not accrue the software fee. You may still pay underlying AWS storage fees for the volume while the instance is stopped. Charges resume when you start the instance again.

- Launch the instance either via AWS MarketPlace wizard or EC2 console
NICE DCV Access
- Configure the Security Group to open Inbound TCP and UDP ports 8443 from your location or use default settings (open to the world)
- Download and install the NICE DCV client - https://docs.aws.amazon.com/dcv/latest/userguide/client.html
- When asked, provide the instance public ip to connect.
- The user is ubuntu.
- The password is the instance id.
Web Access
- Configure the Security Group to open Inbound TCP 8443 from your location or use default settings (not recommended)
- In your browser, access the instance ip using https and port 8443, for example: https://34.239.94.134:8443/
- The user is ubuntu.
- The password is the instance id.
SSH Access
- Configure the Security Group to open Inbound TCP port 22 from your location or 0.0.0.0/0 (open to the world)
- Use an SSH client (for example: https://www.putty.org ) to connect to the instance's IP on the port 22.
- Authenticate to the instance using the key pair selected during the instance launch. The user name is ubuntu.
Additional Information
Monitoring the Health of the instance
- Navigate to your Amazon EC2 console and verify that you're in the correct region.
- Choose Instance and select your launched instance.
- Select the server to display your metadata page and choose the Status checks tab at the bottom of the page to review if your status checks passed or failed.
Data Encryption
- This image does not provide encryption by default at the Operating System or Application level, customers are encouraged to enable EBS encryption during the Instance Launch: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/EBSEncryption.html
- EBS Encryption using the Default key enables key rotation

- Using EBS encryption, the decryption is done automatically when using the instance.
