Oracle Database 21c Enterprise Edition on Windows - Pre-Built AMI by cloudimg

Launch a production-ready Oracle Database 21c Enterprise Edition instance on AWS Windows Server with a single click. This AMI is pre-configured, hardened, and backed by cloudimg's 24x7x365 expert support with a guaranteed response SLA.

    Why Choose This AMI

This is a repackaged Oracle Database 21c Enterprise Edition distribution built and maintained by cloudimg. Additional charges apply for ongoing build, maintenance, and dedicated support services. Oracle Database trademarks are the property of Oracle Corporation and do not imply endorsement.

cloudimg delivers a differentiated experience through rapid patch cycles, pre-tuned storage and networking configurations, and dedicated Oracle-certified support engineers who provide architecture guidance and performance tuning - not just break-fix ticketing.

    Key AWS Benefits

    • One-click launch - Ready on Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022 AMIs with no manual database installation required
    • High-throughput networking - ENA Express enabled, allowing single TCP flows up to 25 Gbps for RMAN backups and Data Pump exports across large datasets
    • Observability built in - AWS CLI v2, CloudWatch Agent, and SSM Agent pre-installed for monitoring, log collection, and automation from day one
    • Hardened baseline - Latest Oracle and Windows security patches applied, automatic EBS optimization configured, and Windows Firewall rules restricting default listener access
    • BYOL ready - Bring Your Own License to use existing Oracle Enterprise Edition entitlements on AWS without additional Oracle licensing through the Marketplace

    Security and Hardening

The AMI ships with the latest cumulative security patches for both Windows Server and Oracle Database. EBS volumes support encryption at rest using AWS KMS keys. Oracle Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) is available for tablespace and column-level encryption. The Windows Firewall is pre-configured to restrict Oracle listener port (1521) access, and Remote Desktop (3389) requires explicit Security Group rules. The image is scanned for known CVEs prior to each release.

    Common Use Cases

    • Financial services reconciliation and billing - Run mission-critical ERP and nightly batch billing workloads processing millions of transactions against databases up to 10 TB, feeding downstream data warehouses
    • Blockchain tables for tamper-evident ledgers - Maintain immutable audit trails for regulatory compliance in banking, insurance, and healthcare environments
    • JSON-based microservices with SQL access - Leverage native JSON document storage alongside relational queries for modern application architectures that need both flexibility and ACID guarantees

    Pre-Deployment Requirements

    Before launching, ensure you have:

    • An Oracle Enterprise Edition BYOL entitlement or appropriate license
    • A VPC with subnets configured for your target Availability Zone
    • Security Groups allowing inbound TCP 1521 (Oracle listener) and TCP 3389 (RDP) from trusted CIDRs
    • Minimum100 GB gp3 EBS volume for the Oracle data files
    • Recommended instance families: r5, r6i, or x2idn for memory-intensive workloads
