What does one billing unit represent for each instance type dimension?
Each dimension is one running EC2 instance of that type, billed per hour. One unit equals one hour that a single instance stays running. The hourly rate covers the preconfigured Jenkins software on Windows Server 2019. You pick the instance type that matches your CPU, memory, or GPU needs.
Am I charged when my Jenkins instance is stopped or powered off?
Software charges meter running hours only. A stopped or powered-off instance does not accrue the hourly software fee. Underlying AWS storage for the disk may still apply while the instance exists. Charges resume when you start the instance again.
What is included in the hourly rate besides the compute instance?
The rate covers a preconfigured Jenkins image on Windows Server 2019, ready to deploy. Port 8080 comes open for the admin URL, internally and externally. You add only the compute cost of your chosen instance. You still manage firewall rules for other resources your jobs reach.
