About Uptime Kuma

AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on the duration and terms of your contract with the vendor. This entitles you to a specified quantity of use for the contract duration. If you choose not to renew or replace your contract before it ends, access to these entitlements will expire.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
This listing offers one pricing dimension, billed under a contract. You pay for a single unit that covers the hardened Uptime Kuma monitoring image, including the setup gate and vendor support. Pricing is tied to the packaging and support, not to the open-source software, which keeps its own license. You commit for a fixed contract term, and the software charge appears on your cloud bill. The servers, storage, and data transfer you run are billed separately by your cloud provider. There are no additional tiers, sizes, or usage-based add-ons to choose from.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does the single unit cover, and what is excluded from the price?
The unit covers the packaging: the configured image, first-boot automation, the setup gate, helper commands, security update configuration, and email support. It does not cover the open-source application itself, which keeps its own license. Designing your site, custom development, add-ons, and data migration are also excluded.
Are the servers and storage I run included in this software charge?
No. Charges for the servers, storage, and data transfer you run are billed separately by your cloud provider. The software charge from Sers One Cloud appears on the same bill as your infrastructure, but the two are priced independently and these infrastructure charges are not refunded by Sers One Cloud.
What happens to my charge when the contract term ends?
Contracts can renew automatically. To stop future charges, turn off automatic renewal in your subscription settings before the renewal date. If the product is retired, Sers One Cloud keeps supporting existing subscribers for at least 90 days.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
Version release notes
Initial release (16 October 2026).
Uptime Kuma 2.5.6, built from the official release, commit-verified at build time.
Ready-to-run stack: nginx and Node.js 24 on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, fully patched at build time.
No default passwords: a one-time setup password is created on each instance at first boot.
A setup gate keeps the first-run screen private until you create your admin account and run "sudo uptime-kuma-setup-complete"; the command refuses until that account exists.
Uptime Kuma 2.5.6 on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS with nginx: self-hosted uptime monitoring.
BEFORE YOU LAUNCH
Use a key pair you hold; there is no default password.
t3.small or t3.medium, 20 GiB SSD. Security group: 22/tcp from your IP only, 80/tcp and 443/tcp open. No host firewall.
FIRST SETUP
Connect: ssh -i <your-key.pem> ubuntu@<public-ip>
Show your one-time setup password: sudo uptime-kuma-credentials show
Note SETUP_PASSWORD.
Open http://<public-ip>/ and sign in to the setup gate: user "setup", password SETUP_PASSWORD.
In the first-run screen create YOUR admin account (username and password).
Go live: sudo uptime-kuma-setup-complete
Removes the gate and the one-time values; refuses until your admin account exists.
HTTPS: point a DNS name at the instance, run sudo certbot --nginx -d <your-domain>
Add monitors, status pages and notification channels in the dashboard.
In Settings > Reverse Proxy turn on "Trust Proxy" so visitor addresses are logged correctly.
SENSITIVE DATA
Everything lives in /opt/uptime-kuma/data (owner uptimekuma): the SQLite database kuma.db with your admin account, monitors, status pages and the credentials and tokens you enter for monitors and notification channels, plus uploads.
Until step 5: /etc/uptime-kuma/instance-credentials (root only).
Logs: sudo journalctl -u uptime-kuma and /var/log/nginx.
All data stays on your instance's volume.
ENCRYPTION
At rest: enable volume encryption at launch (Configure storage > Advanced).
In transit: HTTP until step 6, then TLS (Let's Encrypt, renewed automatically). SSH is encrypted; the application listens only behind nginx on this server.
CREDENTIAL ROTATION
No secrets ship in the image. To change them:
Admin password: profile > Settings > Security.
Monitor and notification tokens: edit them in the dashboard.
SSH login key: replace yours in /home/ubuntu/.ssh/authorized_keys.
TLS: test renewal with sudo certbot renew --dry-run
BACKUP AND RESTORE
Back up the data directory; keep copies off the instance, encrypted (e.g. object storage):
sudo systemctl stop uptime-kuma
sudo tar -czf kuma-data.tar.gz -C /opt/uptime-kuma data
sudo systemctl start uptime-kuma
Restore on a fresh instance: sudo systemctl stop uptime-kuma; sudo tar -xzf kuma-data.tar.gz -C /opt/uptime-kuma; sudo chown -R uptimekuma:uptimekuma /opt/uptime-kuma/data; sudo systemctl start uptime-kuma. Volume snapshots also work.
HEALTH CHECK
Instance status checks pass; set an alarm on them.
UPDATES
Ubuntu security updates install automatically; reboot when /var/run/reboot-required exists. The Node.js runtime comes from the NodeSource repository: update it with sudo apt-get install nodejs. Uptime Kuma itself: back up first, then follow the project's update guide.
NOTIFICATIONS
No mail server; outbound port 25 is blocked by default. Alerts go out through the services you configure in the dashboard (SMTP on port 587, chat tools, webhooks and more).
SERVICE QUOTAS
One instance (2 vCPUs of your account's standard-instance vCPU quota), one 20 GiB SSD volume, optional static IP. No increase needed; if a launch fails with a vCPU limit error, request a quota increase.
COST
Software charge: shown on the product page. Infrastructure (instance, volume, public IPv4, data transfer, snapshots) is billed separately. Each additional instance adds these charges again.
Sers One Cloud provides email support for this image: launching it, the first boot, the setup gate, the helper commands (uptime-kuma-credentials and uptime-kuma-setup-complete) and the included nginx and certbot configuration.
Contact: https://sersonecloud.com/#contact
Please include the product version (shown at SSH login), the Region and the instance type. Never send passwords or private keys; Sers One Cloud has no access to your instance.
Not covered: your monitors and notification channels, and the services you monitor.
