You pay by the hour for the EC2 instance you choose to run Gitea with the Websoft9 Console. Pricing is not tiered by features. Instead, each dimension maps to one AWS EC2 instance type, and every instance runs the same software. Your hourly cost scales with the compute, memory, and storage of the instance you select. Smaller types like t2.nano suit light workloads, while larger types like c6a.metal and x1e.32xlarge handle heavier demand. You billed only for the hours the instance runs, so you can start or stop at any time.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What software runs on each EC2 instance type, and does it change between the smaller and larger options?
Every instance type runs the same Gitea software with the Websoft9 Console. Gitea is a self-hosted DevOps platform for code repositories and CI/CD pipelines. The instance type only changes the compute, memory, and storage available. The features stay identical regardless of which size you pick.
Am I charged when I stop or pause the EC2 instance running Gitea?
Software charges meter running hours only. When you stop the instance, the hourly software charge stops accruing. You can start or stop at any time. Note that stopped instances may still incur underlying AWS storage fees for attached volumes, which is separate from the software charge.
How do I choose which EC2 instance type to subscribe to for my team's workload?
You select one instance type that matches your expected compute, memory, and storage needs. Smaller types like t2.nano fit light or test use. Larger types like c6a.metal or x1e.32xlarge handle heavier team demand. Since all types run the same software, your choice affects only capacity and hourly cost.
