A10 Thunder ADC for Advanced Load Balancing - 5 Gbps
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay by the hour based on the EC2 instance type you run. This listing supports 5 Gbps of load balancing capacity across a range of instance sizes from the m3, m4, and m5 families. Pricing scales with the size of the instance you select, from smaller options like m3.xlarge and m4.large up to larger ones like m5.16xlarge and m4.16xlarge. You choose the instance that fits your compute needs. There is no upfront commitment; billing accrues only while an instance runs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What do I get for the hourly charge on each EC2 instance type?
You get the Thunder ADC software licensed for up to 5 Gbps of load balancing capacity, running on the EC2 instance size you pick. The instance provides the compute; the software adds Layer 4-7 load balancing, SSL/TLS offload, and traffic management. You choose the instance to match your throughput and compute needs.
Am I charged when an instance is stopped, such as a standby or failover node?
Charges accrue per hour only while an instance runs. A stopped instance does not accrue software charges. Stopped instances may still incur underlying AWS storage costs, but the software licence meters running time only. There is no upfront commitment.
Does picking a larger instance type change what the software can do, or just the cost?
All instance types run the same 5 Gbps Thunder ADC software with the same feature set. Larger instances add compute capacity, which affects your hourly rate and how the software performs under heavier traffic. The load balancing capacity ceiling stays at 5 Gbps across every option.
