This product has charges associated with it for security hardening. Launch a pre-configured Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 EC2 instance that ships with Armorbytes hardened baseline.
This is a repackaged open source software product wherein charges are associated for hardening.
Armorbytes Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 image provides hardened defaults mapped to Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) control families such as secure configuration, logging and monitoring, vulnerability management, and access control. Armorbyte is not affiliated with PCI SSC and this image by itself does not constitute PCI certification; it is intended as a prescriptive baseline to help reduce scope and accelerate audit readiness.
The baseline maps to the NIST CSF, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, HIPAA, and other frameworks, giving teams a proven starting point toward compliance without the usual DIY effort.
Key features:
. Baseline aligned to PCI DSS control families (config hardening, logging, access control).
. Time sync enabled; log retention policies; auditd configured.
. Continuous patching via dnf-automatic.
. Optional FIPS mode enablement guidance included.
. Cloud-init hooks to integrate with SIEM/EDR agents.
Why choose Armorbyte?
Armorbyte images are continuously rebuilt, vulnerability-scanned, and cryptographically signed. Every build is regression-tested so it just works the first time you launch.
Highlights
This hardened image map to many established standards and regulatory frameworks, including the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), the ISO 27000 series of standards, PCI DSS, HIPAA, and others.
Armorbytes baseline reduces mean-time-to-secure by providing opinionated defaults, audit-ready logs, and automated patching.

See Legacy AWS Free Tier for more details.
You pay by the hour for a Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 server pre-hardened to PCI DSS Advanced standards. Pricing is not tiered. Instead, you pick one EC2 instance type, and your hourly rate follows the size and family you choose. Options range from small burstable instances (like t2, t3, and t3a nano through 2xlarge) to compute, memory, storage, and GPU-optimized families (c5a, m5a, r5a, i3, d3, g3, g5, p3). More capacity means a higher hourly rate. AWS infrastructure charges are billed separately.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What exactly am I paying for with each hourly instance rate?
You pay for a Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 server image pre-hardened to PCI DSS Advanced standards, running on the EC2 instance type you select. One unit is one running instance per hour. The rate covers the hardened software; underlying AWS compute and storage are billed separately.
Am I charged the hourly rate when my instance is stopped or paused?
The software rate meters running hours only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue software charges. Stopped instances may still incur AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but those come from AWS, not from the hardened software license.
How do I change my hourly cost if I need more capacity?
There are no tiers. Your rate follows the single instance type you pick. To change cost, you launch a different instance size or family. Larger compute, memory, storage, or GPU instances carry higher hourly rates. The change takes effect when you run the new instance type.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
