Armorbytes Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 image provides hardened defaults mapped to Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) control families such as secure configuration, logging and monitoring, vulnerability management, and access control. Armorbyte is not affiliated with PCI SSC and this image by itself does not constitute PCI certification; it is intended as a prescriptive baseline to help reduce scope and accelerate audit readiness.
The baseline maps to the NIST CSF, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, HIPAA, and other frameworks, giving teams a proven starting point toward compliance without the usual DIY effort.

Options range from small burstable instances (like t2, t3, and t3a nano through 2xlarge) to compute, memory, storage, and GPU-optimized families (c5a, m5a, r5a, i3, d3, g3, g5, p3). More capacity means a higher hourly rate. AWS infrastructure charges are billed separately.

The software rate meters running hours only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue software charges. Stopped instances may still incur AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but those come from AWS, not from the hardened software license.
There are no tiers. Your rate follows the single instance type you pick. To change cost, you launch a different instance size or family. Larger compute, memory, storage, or GPU instances carry higher hourly rates. The change takes effect when you run the new instance type.

Usage instructions
Allow inbound SSH access in your security group (TCP port 22) To connect to your instance using the Amazon EC2 console: Open the Amazon EC2 console at https://console.aws.amazon.com/ec2/ .
In the navigation pane, choose Instances.
Select the instance and choose Connect. Choose the EC2 Instance Connect tab. For Connection type, choose Connect using EC2 Instance Connect. Access the ec2 with the default username: ec2-user
