AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
You pay by the hour for the software running on your chosen ARM64-based EC2 instance. Each dimension maps to a specific instance type, so pricing scales with the size and family you pick. Smaller sizes like nano, micro, medium, and large cost less per hour, while larger sizes such as 24xlarge, 48xlarge, and bare metal cost more. Families are grouped by workload focus: general purpose, compute, memory, storage, high-performance, and graphics. You are not locked into a term. Rates reflect the hardware you select; the software itself stays the same across all instances.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What do I actually get for the hourly rate on each instance type?
You get Rocky Linux Version 9 with a graphical desktop environment running on the ARM64 EC2 instance you pick. It includes an RDP-based remote desktop, the Fish shell with auto-completion, a code editor, and a web browser. The instance size sets the CPU and memory you receive.
Am I charged when the instance is stopped or powered off?
The software fee meters running time only. A fully stopped instance stops accruing the hourly software charge. You may still pay underlying AWS fees for attached storage while the instance is stopped. Charges resume once you start the instance again.
Is this pay-as-you-go, or do I commit to a term upfront?
This is usage-based billing. You pay per hour for the instance you run, with no upfront commitment or fixed term. You can start, stop, resize, or switch instance types at any time, and the charge follows the hardware you have running.
