Pricing
Pricing is based on the duration and terms of your contract with the vendor, and additional usage. You pay upfront or in installments according to your contract terms with the vendor. This entitles you to a specified quantity of use for the contract duration. Usage-based pricing is in effect for overages or additional usage not covered in the contract. These charges are applied on top of the contract price. If you choose not to renew or replace your contract before the contract end date, access to your entitlements will expire.

This contract combines three pricing dimensions. You pay a mandatory base platform fee to use the telemetry data platform. On top of that, you are billed by the number of events ingested per month, measured in billions. A pay-as-you-go dimension lets you add usage beyond your committed volume. Pricing scales with how much telemetry data you send, not by user count or query volume. The platform fee stays fixed, while ingestion and pay-as-you-go charges grow with usage.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Billing meters the number of telemetry events you ingest each month, counted in billions. An event is a single telemetry sample sent to the platform, such as a metric data point, log line, or trace span. You are not charged per user or per query.
The pay-as-you-go dimension covers usage beyond your committed event volume. When ingestion rises past your commitment, the extra events bill through pay-as-you-go. This handles traffic spikes without a manual upgrade. The base platform fee stays fixed regardless of how much you ingest.
The base platform fee is fixed and mandatory. Ingestion and pay-as-you-go charges scale with the number of events you send, so they drive most cost as telemetry volume grows. All three charges apply together on the same invoice. Usage volume, not user count, decides the total.
