You pay by the hour for a pre-configured Node.js 22 virtual machine image running on your chosen AWS EC2 instance. Each dimension maps to a specific EC2 instance type, so you pick the compute size that fits your workload. General-purpose (m-series, t-series), compute-optimized (c-series), memory-optimized (r-series, x-series, z-series), storage-optimized (i-series, d-series, h-series), and GPU-accelerated (g-series, p-series) families are all available. Larger instances cost more per hour because they carry more CPU, memory, or GPU capacity. You are billed only for the hours each instance runs.

What does one billing unit represent for each of these dimensions?
One unit is one hour that a single EC2 instance of that type runs the Node.js 22 image. Each dimension maps to one instance type. You are charged per running instance-hour. Running two instances of the same type bills two instance-hours for each clock hour.
Am I charged when an instance is stopped or paused?
The hourly software charge meters running time only. A fully stopped instance stops accruing software charges. Stopped instances may still incur underlying AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but those are separate from this listing's per-hour software charge.
Why do larger instance types cost more per hour for the same software?
The software is the same Node.js 22 image across dimensions. The hourly rate scales with the instance type's compute, memory, storage, or GPU capacity. Choosing a memory-optimized or GPU family instead of a general-purpose one raises the per-hour rate to match the extra hardware.
