Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for a hardened Fedora 40 machine image. Pricing has no upfront commitment and follows usage. Each dimension maps to a specific EC2 instance type, so your rate depends on the instance you run. Options span general-purpose, compute-optimized, memory-optimized, storage-optimized, and accelerated (GPU and inference) families. Within each family, larger sizes carry higher hourly rates than smaller sizes. You choose the instance that fits your workload and scale up or down by switching types. Software charges apply on top of standard AWS infrastructure costs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each unit is one running EC2 instance of the type named in the dimension. You pay per instance-hour for the hardened Fedora 40 machine image on that instance. Running two instances of the same type bills two hourly rates in parallel. The rate reflects the instance size and family you select.
The software charge meters running time only. A stopped instance does not accrue the hourly software fee. Underlying AWS storage costs for the attached volume may still apply while the instance is stopped. Charges resume when you start the instance again.
Your hourly rate follows the instance type you run. Switching to a larger size in the same family raises the hourly rate; switching to a smaller size lowers it. The change takes effect when you launch the new instance. You are not locked to one type and can switch as workloads shift.

- The operating system does not save sensitive information for users/customers.
- There are no data encryption techniques set for current AMI.
- Disabled password-based remote logins for the root user.
- PermitRootLogin is set to without-password. (Location : sshd_config)
- The current AMI does not contain authorized_keys and password.
- Users can launch instances of AMI with a key pair and log in without requiring a root password.
- Navigate to your Amazon EC2 console and verify that you're in the correct region.
- Choose Instance and start using launched instance.
