Overview
HAProxy Enterprise is the enterprise edition of HAProxy and the data plane of HAProxy One, the world's fastest application delivery and security platform. This AMI runs HAProxy Enterprise on AWS and is backed by support from HAProxy Technologies.
HAProxy is a G2 category leader in Load Balancing, Container Networking, Web Application Firewall, DDoS Protection, and API Management.
Optional capabilities are available on request. This AMI listing includes the Basic support tier. You can contact HAProxy Technologies to upgrade your HAProxy Enterprise deployment with the following.
- Security modules add WAF and bot management capabilities, with the latest threat-detection algorithms from HAProxy Technologies.
- HAProxy Fusion Control Plane provides full-lifecycle management, observability, and automation of multi-cluster, multi-cloud, and multi-team HAProxy Enterprise deployments. Service discovery automates Kubernetes routing. A REST API and modern UI simplify configuration and integration.
- Premium Support that is available 24/7/365 from the expert engineers behind HAProxy.
Key capabilities:
- Application delivery: Kubernetes routing, API and AI gateway, content acceleration.
- Access and authentication: ACLs, rate limiting, device detection and geolocation, single sign-on with SAML, OpenID Connect, and Kerberos.
- Observability and automation: Native OpenTelemetry, Prometheus and SNMP metrics, structured logging, and full programmatic control through the HAProxy Runtime API and the HAProxy Data Plane API.
Security module availability. From HAProxy Enterprise 3.4, security modules such as the HAProxy Enterprise WAF and Bot Management Module are not included in the public cloud image. Contact HAProxy Technologies to upgrade your HAProxy Enterprise deployment with the suite of security modules. This change applies to HAProxy Enterprise 3.4 and later. Earlier versions are unchanged.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

Usage instructions
Launching AMI: Deploy the HAProxy Enterprise AMI using the instance size of your choice. We recommend choosing an instance with at least 2 CPUs and with at least 8 GB RAM. Select the instance size, agree to the subscription terms, and follow the AMI configuration instructions.
Connecting to Instance: Once the AMI has been launched and fully booted (instance is being shown as healthy) you can connect to it using the SSH key pair that you selected while launching the instance.
Use the following command to connect to the instance depending upon the operating system that you selected. Please make note of the instance IP and connect either through private IP (from bastion host) or through public IP (EIP):
Ubuntu: ssh -i <private key> ubuntu@<ec2 IP> Red Hat Enterprise Linux: ssh -i <private key> ec2-user@<ec2 IP>
Starting and Managing the service: The HAProxy Enterprise service will automatically run upon initialization. You can manage the process using systemctl.
