A Dogecoin Core node is a computer running the Dogecoin Core software, which is the reference implementation for Dogecoin. This software allows your computer to participate in the Dogecoin network by validating transactions and blocks, relaying information, and maintaining a copy of the blockchain.
Highlights
Network Security and Integrity: By running a node, you help secure the network. Nodes validate transactions and blocks, ensuring they follow the network's rules. This helps prevent fraud and double-spending.
Decentralization: Nodes contribute to the decentralized nature of Dogecoin. The more nodes there are, the more distributed the network becomes, making it more resistant to attacks and censorship.
Supporting the Community: Running a node supports the Dogecoin community by providing additional resources for transaction processing and block propagation. This helps keep the network robust and efficient.
AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on a fixed subscription cost and actual usage of the product. You pay the same amount each billing period for access, plus an additional amount according to how much you consume. The fixed subscription cost is prorated, so you're only charged for the number of days you've been subscribed. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay by the hour based on the EC2 instance type you choose to run this software. Each dimension maps to a specific AWS instance, all sized at large. The options span several instance families, including general-purpose (m-series) and memory-optimized (r-series and z1d) types, plus burstable t2 and t3 variants. Pricing scales with the instance you select, so cost follows the compute, memory, and networking profile of that hardware. You are not locked into a fixed plan; billing tracks your actual usage hours on the instance type you deploy.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What am I actually paying for with each hourly instance dimension?
Each dimension bills the software running on one large EC2 instance of that type. The rate covers the software license metered per hour of runtime. You pick one instance family and size, and the hourly charge reflects that hardware's compute, memory, and networking profile.
Am I charged when the instance is stopped or paused?
Hourly software charges apply only while the instance runs. Stopping the instance halts the per-hour software charge. Stopped instances may still incur separate AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but the software license meters running hours only.
Can I deploy this on my own AWS account and manage the infrastructure?
Yes. The software deploys in your own AWS account and runs on the EC2 instance type you select. The vendor is an AWS Advanced Tier Partner and can manage your AWS infrastructure end to end if you want support beyond self-service.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
