Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
If you are an AWS Free Tier customer with a free plan, you are eligible to subscribe to this offer. You can use free credits to cover the cost of eligible AWS infrastructure. See AWS Free Tier for more details. You pay by the hour for the specific EC2 instance type you run this hardened Debian 10 image on. Each dimension maps to one AWS instance type, so pricing scales with the size and family you choose. General-purpose, compute, memory, storage, GPU, and bare-metal instance types are all available. Larger instances within a family cost more per hour than smaller ones. You are billed only for the hours each instance runs, with no upfront commitment. Choose the instance type that matches your workload's compute, memory, and storage needs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What do I get for the hourly rate on each instance type?
You get the hardened Debian 10 image running on the AWS EC2 instance type you select. The image is audited and tested against several hundred security controls, with support resources included to help you launch and resolve issues. Each dimension maps to one instance type, priced per running hour.
Am I charged when my instance is stopped or paused?
Hourly software charges apply only while your instance is running. When you stop the instance, the software metering stops too. Underlying AWS storage fees may still apply for attached volumes, but the hourly software charge meters running time only.
How does the hourly usage billing work if my needs change?
You pay per hour with no upfront commitment. If your workload grows, you launch a instance from a family with more compute, memory, or storage. Larger instances within a family cost more per hour. You are billed only for the hours each running instance uses.
