Elyxia Global Limited brings you a robust and performance-optimized OrangeHRM 5.9 image on AlmaLinux 10. OrangeHRM is an open-source Human Resource Management system covering the employee record, organisation structure, leave entitlements and requests, attendance and timesheets, recruitment and applicant tracking, performance reviews, and an employee self-service portal your staff use directly. This ready-to-deploy AMI gives you a working HR system in minutes rather than an afternoon spent assembling PHP, a web server and a database, and then walking a browser wizard through a setup that asks for database credentials you have to create first. The AlmaLinux 10 base is a secure, enterprise-grade Linux known for stability and long-term support.

The application runs in containers. OrangeHRM and its database are managed by Docker Compose on the instance, so application updates can be delivered without replacing the AMI, and the database runs on an isolated internal network with no port exposed to the internet.
Your HR system is installed and ready when the instance finishes starting. There is no setup wizard to complete. The database, the schema and your administrator account are created for you, and the sign-in details are shown once, at the end of installation.
The exact OrangeHRM version is fixed in the image and verified by checksum before it is unpacked, so every instance of a given build runs identical code.
Exclusive Fixes and Resolutions by Elyxia Global Limited:
- It Installs: the previous build downloaded whichever release was newest and then looked for a folder named after a version it had fixed in place. Those stopped matching in November 2025, since when the installer reported a failure and no working system was produced. This build pins the version, verifies it by checksum, and checks the extracted path before going further.
- The Version You Are Told Is The Version You Get: the previous build advertised one version while downloading another. Here they are the same thing, fixed in the image.
- SELinux Stays Enforcing: the previous image shipped with the kernel mandatory access control already switched off, in the configuration and at runtime, before a customer touched it. This image leaves it on.
- Database Closed To The Internet: MariaDB runs on a private network inside the instance with no published port. The previous build listened on every interface with no host firewall installed at all.
- Nothing Is Sent To A Third Party: the standard installation ends by transmitting your organisation name, the administrator name and email address, and your host, to the upstream vendor. That transmission is declined here, and the refusal is recorded. You can register from inside the product if you want to.
- Installation Cannot Report Success After A Failure: this build reads back what the installation was supposed to produce, including the administrator account, and stops if it is not there.
- The Password You Are Given Actually Works: OrangeHRM enforces a password policy at sign-in, and a generated password that misses it signs in and is then forced to change. The password generated here satisfies that policy, so you sign in and reach the dashboard.
Use your own domain name with a free SSL certificate. One command obtains the certificate, renews it automatically, and redirects HTTP to HTTPS. It also updates the address the system records for itself. The instance needs only three inbound ports: 22, 80 and 443. This image does not include a mail server, so OrangeHRM sends through a mail provider that you configure.

The previous build downloaded whichever release was newest from the project, and then copied from a folder named after a version fixed in the script. Those two stopped matching when OrangeHRM 5.8 was published on 21 November 2025, and from that day the installer reported a failure and no working system was produced. If you launched this product since then and it did not install, that is why. This build pins the version, verifies the download by checksum, and checks the extracted path before continuing, so the fault cannot recur. If anything does go wrong, the installer tells you to contact support@elyxia.uk .

Usage instructions
Connect to the instance over SSH as ec2-user and run the one-click installer. The full guide, including the AWS console steps, is at https://assist.elyxia.uk/docs/orangehrm-5/one-click-installation/
The installer creates your database and administrator account and prints the username and password once, at the end. Write the password down before closing the terminal. It is generated for your instance and is not stored anywhere you can read it back. Open OrangeHRM at http://YOUR-INSTANCE-PUBLIC-IP/ and sign in.
Note that OrangeHRM signs in with a USERNAME, not an email address, and the installer tells you what it is.
The work email address on the administrator account is a placeholder that cannot receive mail. Change it to your own under My Info, because password resets go to whatever address is on the account.
To use your own domain name with a free SSL certificate, run: sudo /usr/local/bin/egl-setup-domain.sh.x Before you add your staff, set your outgoing mail provider and your organisation details under Admin. This image does not include a mail server, so no notification reaches anyone until you do.
