About AWS GameDay

AWS GameDay is a gamified learning event that challenges participants to use AWS solutions to solve real-world technical problems in a team-based setting. Unlike traditional workshops, GameDays are open-ended and non-prescriptive to give participants the freedom to explore and think outside the box.

Our approach is unconventional compared to other learning formats. Ambiguity and non-prescriptive guidance allow teams the flexibility to think creatively as they navigate a wide array of technical challenges.

Participants can expect exploratory learning and implementing AWS solutions at GameDay events. 

Gain access to AWS Senior Solutions Architects and Technical Account Managers and receive guidance on best practices to work through GameDay challenges. 

The Unicorn.Rentals narrative at each GameDay event requires group cooperation and encourages team-based problem solving.

While on her Spirit Animal Safari Yoga Leadership Retreat, the CEO was inspired to post a promise to reduce carbon emissions on social media. Oops! The Unicorn.Rentals security team thought that job zero meant that security wasn’t important, and instead prioritized other “initiatives.” Our lack of investment in security has exposed several weaknesses and vulnerabilities in our architecture though, and we’re hearing reports of ransomware attacks and data leaks!

Last year Unicorn.Rentals encountered a new challenge - some of their unicorns decided they have done enough rides and it was time to retire. Unicorn.Rentals opened a new charity to look after retired Unicorns who demanded to spend their days eating their body weight in carrots!  A new website was setup where unicorn enthusiasts could donate carrots to help feed the retired unicorns. Your mission is to explore the system we have, ensuring we have visibility into how well our applications are performing and that we can react to events such as a drops in carrot donations or reductions in website performance.
