Amazon EVS expands support options with Broadcom

Introduction

When you run VMware workloads on AWS, getting the right support quickly matters. Today, we’re sharing that Amazon Elastic VMware Service (Amazon EVS) customers can now contact AWS or Broadcom for VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) support. With this change, you can connect directly to the support organization best positioned to resolve your specific issue, whether it involves AWS infrastructure or VMware software.

Previously, all support requests for Amazon EVS environments were handled exclusively through AWS Support, regardless of whether the issue involved AWS infrastructure or VMware software. Going forward, you’re now able to contact the right team from the start, reducing resolution times and improving your overall support experience. Of course, you can continue to contact AWS directly for any issue. However, if you have VMware specific requests, you now have the option to contact Broadcom directly.

How it works

You can always contact AWS Support for any issue related to your Amazon EVS environment, whether it involves AWS infrastructure or VCF software. AWS remains your single point of contact for the full stack, and we’ll work to get your issues addressed. However, active VCF subscriptions include entitlements for support and maintenance services that can be used by logging into the Broadcom Support Portal. If you have any questions regarding Broadcom support or need account information for the Broadcom Support Portal, you can reach out to your Broadcom account team, authorized partner representative, or contact Broadcom Global Customer Assistance.

Important: Broadcom support only covers VCF software and does not extend to AWS infrastructure.

As use of Amazon EVS requires AWS Support, you’re already set to reach AWS for any issue. To contact Broadcom for VCF software issues, you can use your existing Broadcom VCF subscription entitlements
