AI-native, full-stack web apps with Vercel and AWS Databases

Developers are building and shipping applications faster than ever. With tools like v0, you can go from a prompt to a working application in an afternoon, and Vercel’s platform removes much of the operational friction. What these tools don’t remove is the work that begins the moment an application finds real users. Concurrent connections climb and working sets outgrow memory. Read traffic concentrates on a handful of rows, and the lightweight data layer that was fine for a prototype becomes the component most likely to fail in production. This is the point at which many applications stall. The product isn’t wrong, but the path from a prototype application to one with a reliable, production data tier is unfamiliar.

In this post, we show how the integration between Vercel and AWS Databases solves this and invite you to participate in the H0 hackathon.

Why the Vercel integration with AWS Databases matters to you

The Vercel and AWS integration is designed to shorten that path. You can provision AWS Databases directly from the Vercel dashboard or through v0, Vercel’s AI coding assistant, and consume them from Vercel-hosted applications. The database services provisioned through the Vercel Marketplace are the same ones that AWS customers use for mission-critical applications in production.

You don’t need to choose between shipping quickly and building on infrastructure that will hold up in real-world traffic and scale. With this integration, the prototype that you build over a weekend can run on the same data foundation that startups and enterprises alike use. You can focus on building and iterating on your product quickly on an operationally proven database from day one. The integration supports Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL, Amazon DynamoDB, and Amazon Aurora DSQL. To get started, prompt v0:

Inviting builders to compete for prizes and glory

AWS and Vercel invite you to participate in the first “H0” hackathon where you can compete to win USD $160,000 in prizes including cash and AWS credits.

Submission deadline June 29, 2026
Stack Vercel and at least one AWS serverless database (Aurora DSQL, Aurora PostgreSQL, or DynamoDB).
Who can participate The hackathon is open to everyone from AI-assisted developers and students to professional developers at large enterprises.
Credits Every participant receives AWS credits and Vercel credits upon registration.

* Restrictions apply. See the hackathon page for details.

The hackathon offers a choice of four challenge tracks including B2C and B2B scenarios across industries, gaming, social media, or entertainment applications. You can also choose the open innovation track.

Track 1: Monetizable B2C app. Develop a business-to-consumer application tailored for industries like ecommerce, travel, retail, or hospitality, suited for those looking to launch a side hustle or scale a full-time venture.

Track 2: Monetizable B2B app. Create a business-to-business application that solves challenges for companies in industries such as finance, technology, healthcare, insurance, marketing and advertising, or any other sector that you’re passionate about.

Track 3: Million-scale global app. Create an application in the gaming, social media, or entertainment sectors, with a thoughtful application architecture designed to be able to scale to millions of users globally.

Track 4: Open innovation. Build any full-stack application that creatively implements the Vercel/v0 and AWS Databases stack.

Get started with Vercel and AWS Databases

To get started, prompt v0 to build with AWS Databases. On the database tab in your Vercel dashboard, choose Connect Database and then select one of the AWS databases.

If you already have an AWS account, refer to the Vercel blog for step-by-step guidance on connecting your existing AWS account. AWS Databases are also available in the Vercel Marketplace. You can create and connect to your database directly from Vercel AI Cloud or v0 in seconds.

New AWS customers can receive $100 in AWS credits when they create an AWS account through the Vercel marketplace. In addition, H0 hackathon participants can request USD $100 in AWS credits for use with nearly all AWS services, including AWS Databases. You can manage your plan, payment information, and usage on the AWS settings page within your Vercel dashboard. We’ve simplified AWS account creation, database provisioning, linking to Vercel projects, AWS Region selection, secure credential handling, and monitoring of AWS database resources. Environment variables for connection strings and credentials are generated and securely stored within your Vercel project. The AWS account that you create from your Vercel dashboard is a limited-scope account with a streamlined experience. For full access to AWS services, connect to your existing AWS account.

Next steps

With this integration of AWS Databases within Vercel, you have a direct path to use production-ready AWS databases with no manual setup required. The H0 hackathon is your opportunity to build a full-stack, data-driven application on production-ready infrastructure with zero operational overhead. Register for the H0 hackathon on Devpost, explore the AWS Databases integration on the Vercel Marketplace, and go from prompt to live apps by asking v0 to build with AWS.
