Leveraging Amazon EC2 Hpc6a and Amazon EC2 Hpc7g instances, a purpose-built server resource offered by AWS for high performance computing (HPC), Encored Technologies built an HPC cluster for its weather forecasting system that helps predict renewable energy generation of plants. This enabled Encored Technologies to help customers sell the electricity they produce to the energy market at the highest value.

To this end, the company built an in-house Weather Research & Forecasting (WRF) model to improve prediction accuracy.
