The Innovations for Climate Adaptation and Resilience (iCARE) initiative is implemented by the Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC) under the Climate Adaptation and Resilience (CARE) for South Asia project, financed by the World Bank. The iCARE initiative promotes innovation and co-creation in climate resilience data and analytics, fosters innovation in decision-support systems for climate resilience, and promotes climate resilience development across targeted sectors.
ADPC partnered with AWS Partner Cropin to help 8,000 smallholder farmers increase yields and productivity through the Cropin Grow (SmartFarm Plus) platform. The platform helps digitize farm plots, relying on proprietary AI and ML models that combine weather data, key indexes from satellite data, and a comprehensive crop knowledge graph to send timely weather and agronomy advisories directly to farmers.
