Has an easy to setup phase and can be managed conveniently by the users

  • September 11, 2024
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I use the solution in my company to stop phishing and spam efficiently and automatically.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable features of the solution are that it is easy to set it up, install, and manage the product.

What needs improvement?

I think maybe on the side of the awareness training, the tool can improve a little more information and have some other languages since even though English is good, Spanish is not so good. The tool can improve the content in Spanish and other languages. The tool supports 15 to 16 languages, but the content it uses in the training in Spanish has certain limitations.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using IRONSCALES for a year. My company is an end user of the tool.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is a very stable solution as it is software that runs in the cloud. I didn't have any outages with the tool.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It is a very scalable solution. I know the tool scales up very well. Some of our customers have thousands of use of mailboxes. In my case, only one hundred users use the tool. It requires very little installation, but I know thousands of customers.

How are customer service and support?

The technical support offered is very good. The tool's support team attends very quickly to the support tickets raised. The technical support is very good at resolving issues.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have used a security gateway from Forcepoint, which was a lot more complicated to maintain and set up. Forcepoint decided to discontinue its solution for email gateway, and then it decided to introduce another solution in the market that includes AI.

How was the initial setup?

The product is easy to set up as it is an API-based solution. With IRONSCALES, you don't have to do anything on the platform. You just need to do the integration and the connection with Office 365 tenants, and that is it.

I rate the product's setup phase as a ten out of ten.

The solution can be deployed by one person from IRONSCALES, who will create the tenant for me. Then, I do the rest of the setup process, which includes three or more steps, but it can be done in minutes.

The solution can be deployed in 15 to 30 minutes.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The product is available as a middle-priced tool. I think it is not the cheapest solution. There are other solutions apart from IRONSCALES that are more expensive, while some are a little bit more cheap, but they are not available with the same capabilities.

What other advice do I have?

The automated response capabilities are very accurate for detecting suspicious activities and suspicious languages used by the attackers.

The only people needed when using the tool are to take care of the console and an analyst. In some cases, some incidents require an analyst to complete the analysis of the email. I don't create incidents that can be automatically resolved by AI. I create incidents that need a review from an analyst. The only people who need to be aware of the incidents and where such details should not be classified is when it comes to analysts. I don't need to do any maintenance process for the tool every day. Everything is available as a service, so I don't need to do anything to maintain the platform apart from dealing with the non-classified incidents.

The tool uses a lot of AI technologies to detect the accuracy of the email, especially to filter out phishing emails. It not only detects phishing emails but also provides a preview of who the attackers are before we receive the real phishing email. It is not just to detect phishing emails but also to detect the intent of the attacker in creating a phishing email.

I rate the tool a nine and a half out of ten.

Email protection made fast and easy!

  • September 09, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ironscales makes quite easy the implementation of phishing protection, while giving you a fast and easy-to-use framework to execute phishing simulation campaigns. Implementation was straight-forward and done very fast.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are certain functionalities that from a user-experience side would be beneficial (like the implementation of a blacklist mechanism to block emails from certian domains, instead of working solely on the detections based on AI), but overall we are very happy with the implementation and delivery of Ironscales' services.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to protect our inboxes without the implementation of an email gateway was one of the needs that we had as a company. Additionally, we are able to take action on multiple emails by just protecting one, which then streamlines the protection across any current of future similar threats.
On top of that, consolidating phishing simulation campaigns in the same platform makes things easy and productive.

Some teething issues, but incredibly effective when implemented

  • September 07, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The platform is incredibly intuitive in comparison to others. IRONSCALES have put a lot of effort into a dashboard which makes clear to stakeholders the ROI for such a platform. It's also easy to manage from a day to day perspective for internal IT teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's a lack of customisability around notifications or integrations into industry standard issue management systems. I believe this will be resolved over time, but for now you can hack that together. I would sincerely like granular control over notification emails though as this would help reduce needless noise.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Drastically and dynamically addressing spam and protecting accounts from compromise. Similarly, the time saving compared to Microsoft's stock solution has freed more time for more valuable tasks.

Improves efficiency and security posture. A win win!

  • September 06, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ironscales has helped us by improving the process for users to report suspicious emails. At the same time, once an email is reported, it pulls it back from all other users mailboxes, saving time and enhancing securty by preventing employee "mis-clicks".
What do you dislike about the product?
The user interface can be a little easier to use
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Fraud detection is a big concern for uor copany and ironscales has helped us step up our securtiy posture by providing community based feedback on any email received

the software does an excellent job identifying SPAM and PHISHING.

  • September 06, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Auto identification of SPAM and PHISHING
Removal of identified messages from all mailboxes
Able to view components of an e-mail and why it was flagged
Phishing simulation campaigns
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish they had an option to filter mail before delivering to the mailbox, such as a Secure E-mail Gateway. All processing is after fact. Although it is generally fast there is a possibliity a user could click on a link before Themis identifies a problem.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Auto classification and remediation of malicious e-mails. Clean-up of all instances of an e-mail once identified. Phishing simulation campaigns.

Helps to alert users about phishing activities and spam emails

  • August 12, 2024
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

The tool runs on an API, and it communicates with all of our users' inboxes. The tool is just for keeping spam in check and, more importantly, to deal with the dangerous phishing emails out of our users' hands. It can see if it lets something pass and it goes to the inbox, then after 20 minutes, if it gets new information that it is a potentially dangerous email, the solution will yank it right out of the user's inbox.

What is most valuable?

With the tool, users can report things that they think are phishing activities, meaning it allows IRONSCALES to take another look at it and then determine the final disposition, which is a good feature. More importantly, we just kind of let it run and do its thing, and then the tool comes up with two to three possibilities. If something is clean, we never hear from IRONSCALES. If it is spam, it will be categorized as spam. If an email is considered to be a phishing email, it'll categorize it as a phishing activity. If an email is spam or comes under the phishing category, the tool will pull the email out of the inboxes so that it is not available.

What needs improvement?

I think the tool can continue to hone the product to ensure the detections are accurate. The tool also involves some crowdsourcing. It is a pretty good product. We use IRONSCALES in conjunction with Proofpoint since the latter tool is an email gateway. Between IRONSCALES and Proofpoint, the idea of filtered security solutions, especially with emails because phishing is so dangerous, has kept us from harm for five-plus years.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using IRONSCALES for three years. I am a customer of the tool.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is a totally stable solution. The tool has never had downtime.

How are customer service and support?

I can't rate the support of IRONSCALES because our support comes through the company we got the tool from, and it is called Constant Edge. Constant Edge is a reseller of the tool to SMBs because IRONSCALES doesn't want to get caught up with just 100 user licenses since it is just too small for it to worry about. Constant Edge has done an incredible job of providing support to our company. Constant Edge also provides our company with Proofpoint.

How was the initial setup?

The company we get IRONSCALES from is not big enough to sell the product directly.

The solution can be deployed in a day.

One person can deploy the solution.

What about the implementation team?

My organization got the tool from Constant Edge out of the UK, and they came in and set it all up for us.

What was our ROI?

The email security management costs take up a large portion of our IT security budget because everybody needs security in our company. We really have to watch out for trying to keep our users in a safe zone.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The tool is affordable. Our company has a pretty tight IT budget. We had to make room for IRONSCALES in our budget, and we have kept it since, after three years, we plan to renew it. The tool is not very cheap, but it is affordable. It is much cheaper to have the tool than to have a phishing email get clicked and see your whole network being brought down. On a scale of one to ten, if ten means it is an expensive tool, I rate the product's price as six or seven.

What other advice do I have?

The AI engine is, like anything else that is similar to machine learning, so it is going to get smarter as time goes on. In our company, we put a lot of time into the tool to see if it detects something that is clean, making sure that it understands that it was not a malicious email. The tool has become pretty darn smart at this point.

If there is a situation where I need to manage the tool, I would say that there is an AI engine for the product, Themis Copilot, for Microsoft Outlook. When the tool pulls an email, it says that even though it pulled it out, it cannot give it a final disposition, so I won't know if it is spam or phishing activity. In that case, you need to go in and manually let the tool know that a particular email is spam, is associated with some phishing activity, or is clean. The tool tries to improve the accuracy of the machine learning and AI aspects. Occasionally, the tool requires some manual intervention.

IRONSCALES has gotten smarter as our company has trained the machine learning and improved the AI engine, and it has reached to the point now that it is set and forgotten. We visit the tool maybe once a week just to make sure that there are no emails that haven't given a final disposition.

I recommend the tool to others, along with Proofpoint.

I rate the tool a nine out of ten.

Applies AI automation to clearly identify and stop a lot of phishing emails

  • March 13, 2024
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is most valuable?

The solution captures a bit more of the unknown, quantifies it, and applies intelligence to it to pick out and stop a lot of phishing emails that come through. The solution improved our response to phishing attempts. IRONSCALES has a virtual assistant and some AI intelligence that's applied to it. That was the main differentiator between IRONSCALES and Microsoft.

The solution's AI automation clearly identifies phishing emails and gives you an overall indication of why it found the mail to be malicious. It does the whole analysis for you to see why the email was deemed a phishing email. The solution's response time is better than that of our previous tool. The solution's user interface is pretty straightforward and user-friendly.

What needs improvement?

IRONSCALES should bundle more features together instead of separating them and charging additional licensing fees. The solution’s scalability could be improved.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using IRONSCALES for one year.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I rate the solution a seven out of ten for scalability.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We did a side-by-side comparison of Microsoft and IRONSCALES. Microsoft generally has a lot of features, but for me, Microsoft is behind in terms of the more advanced and smarter solutions. I wouldn't recommend using Microsoft as a main filter for email protection. IRONSCALES performed better in terms of what it was catching than Microsoft.

How was the initial setup?

The solution’s initial setup was straightforward.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

IRONSCALES is an expensive solution. The solution has certain add-on features, and its pricing depends on how you scale it. You have to pay additional licensing fees for some specific features.

What other advice do I have?

IRONSCALES has a pretty smart technology, which is different from the traditional gateway kind of technology.

Overall, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.

What do you like best about the product?
Seamless & transparent integration with our O356 / Outlook application across all platforms, local desktop, cloud / owa or mobile devices. Quick remediation & analyst feedback.
What do you dislike about the product?
Weekly reporting could be a bit more in-depth. As an IT Manager, I need to know "threat patterns or trends" specific to our team so I can better work w/our users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest problem it solves is email security & allows us to be more productive. By minimizing spam, phishing & malware threats, we can confidently focus on important email correspondence w/our team, vendors & customers.
