Has reduced phishing threats with AI-driven alerts and improves investigation accuracy

What is our primary use case?

IRONSCALES provides email security for my previous customer environment, which is a big inventory customer. The entire email security is monitored by IRONSCALES. It monitors all activities including invoices, customer domain communications, phishing emails, suspicious emails, and VIP member communications. We investigate suspicious mails in IRONSCALES.

What is most valuable?

The best features of IRONSCALES are that most alerts are validated through AI, which reduces the fatigue of alerts that need to be worked on by the team handling the alerts investigation part. Only a small number of alerts require manual review.

IRONSCALES is a useful tool that detects every malicious file delivered to our customer domain emails. It safeguards against phishing emails and malicious files that are inbound to our customer services.

IRONSCALES reduces processing time significantly. There can be multiple alerts where the team handles and reviews them. The SOC team participates in bridge calls to investigate all emails delivered in the sandbox, and if required, we keep them in junk or contaminate them after analysis.

What needs improvement?

The user interface could be more attractive to users. The UI is not brightened or appealing. Having a more user-friendly UI would make it easier to identify features and options when using the tool.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have used IRONSCALES for two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

IRONSCALES is a stable tool.

How are customer service and support?

Customer support for IRONSCALES was great.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I would advise that it is a necessary tool when comparing to other email security tools. If we are getting it for a lesser quotation, organizations should have this AI-automated email security which saves time and money.

What other advice do I have?

The automated alerts generated are integrated into our SIEM solution. We can create logics according to our investigation in our SIEM solution from logs pulled from IRONSCALES to SIEM solution via API call. We monitor all triggered alerts in the same solution.

The user interface could be more user-friendly and attractive to use. I rated this solution 9 out of 10 overall.

Has improved threat analysis by providing clear email correspondence history and reporting tools

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for IRONSCALES is the UI and the convenience of having detailed information available to me.

A specific example of how I use the UI and detailed information in my day-to-day work is that it provides correspondence history with all the mails being sent and also the way it passes the headers. It's very easy to read and make out where exactly vulnerabilities lie.

IRONSCALES' platform makes it very easy and user-friendly. For the technical part, there's always a further drill down that can be done for information.

What is most valuable?

The best features IRONSCALES offers are the investigation tabs, headers, and correspondence history, which stand out the most for me.

The investigation tabs are valuable for my work because reporting goes a long way in terms of playbooks and having a full investigation. The investigation tab knows exactly how to put the information in a way that makes it very easy for reports to get done fast.

Security awareness training is a big part of IRONSCALES. The platform offers a broad spectrum in terms of what campaigns can be run for security awareness for users as well as reporting back on how users interact with their mails and understanding where the vulnerabilities lie.

IRONSCALES has positively impacted my organization by making email security simple in terms of controlling mails, understanding where the threats are, and protecting the organization itself.

What needs improvement?

I would really prefer to drill down more on correspondence history. It provides detailed background information to actually understand what's going on. If there were clickable drill downs on specific users or specific correspondence to relate them to certain types of mails, that would be beneficial.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working in my current field for about one year and two months now.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

IRONSCALES is very stable.

How are customer service and support?

Customer support for IRONSCALES is outstanding. I've never had to wait more than a day for feedback from support, and they're very interactive with our users as well as our analysts.

I did not previously use a different solution.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

A team investigated other platforms before choosing IRONSCALES. We settled on it because it is interactive and user-friendly for certain types of analysts. The fact that there are always ongoing updates and products being added is a bonus.

What other advice do I have?

My advice to others looking into using IRONSCALES is to exercise caution as to how the platform works. Everything is not obviously as it seems. The product uses AI and the information that's provided. Looking at it at face value shouldn't be your final classification. It's a tool that we use to better our understanding of email security, and it's not a one and done situation. People starting to use IRONSCALES should really look into understanding email security and using it as a tool becomes a necessary part of proceeding with email security.

IRONSCALES is a really good platform, and it's ever-growing. This is just the start of what they are able to do with the AI, especially with Themis, and also the way it's structured, and that overall understanding of email security and how certain events should be handled.

I rate IRONSCALES 9 out of 10.

Has effectively combined AI detection with human expertise to improve phishing response

What is our primary use case?

The main use cases for IRONSCALES demonstrate its artificial intelligence capabilities because it utilizes AI to detect phishing and has specialized engines for detecting both phishing and spam, making it very efficient at these tasks.

How has it helped my organization?

The automated incident response helps my security team by automating many tasks that only require console review to check incidents. If they notice something suspicious or potential AI false positives, these cases are minimal.

For example, if people in the organization receive 50 suspicious emails in a day that are detected by IRONSCALES, maybe one or two might be false positives. The interesting aspect is that with the intervention of the security analyst's human knowledge, they can contribute to this intelligence. It creates a merger of AI intelligence and human intelligence where the model is continuously learning.

What is most valuable?

What I appreciate most about IRONSCALES is that it detects not only actual phishing attempts but also potential preliminary phases of phishing. Some attackers plan their strategy by sending non-offensive emails designed to capture users' attention. IRONSCALES excels at analyzing the intention, not just the content itself, but the sender's attempt to gain user attention. When attackers employ social engineering and prepare their real attack, IRONSCALES effectively detects these intentions. This is a particularly valuable feature.

What needs improvement?

There are areas that could be improved with this product. Regarding the Spanish language awareness training, while they are producing good content, it appears to be initially produced in English and then translated to Spanish. Though this isn't problematic for our users, the content could be updated more frequently.

I have ongoing experience using IRONSCALES.

I would rate their technical support as very good, as they respond promptly when my team opens a ticket.

What do you like best about the product?
We use Ironscales as a secure email tool. It is a magnificent tool, helping us detect all the malicious mails.
What do you dislike about the product?
Up to date, we are satisfied with this tool, so nothing to declare here.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It provides secure email service safeguards email communication through encryption, strong authentication, and defense against phishing and malware. It encrypts messages and attachments to prevent unauthorized access and verifies user identity with multi-factor authentication. Additionally, it employs advanced threat detection to block phishing attempts and scan attachments for malware. Features like data loss prevention and secure email gateways further ensure the security and integrity of email transmission.

Ironscales makes quick work of email security

What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about Ironscales is that it saves a lot of time in dealing with email threats. Initial setup was pretty simple and additional tuning is intuitive. It finds a lot of threats the MS365 misses, even with full Defender/Advanced Threat Protection tools. Instead of having to sort through layers and layers of MS alerts and remediations, we can manage all our email issues in a very intuitive portal, including a lot that MS just misses.

Ironscales Themis AI does a good job of auto-classifying suspicious emails, and it gets better as we tune it. The emails that it's unclear about are easy to process manually.

The phishing campaign management is easy to work with and the integration of remedial training makes user education (almost) painless.

The Ironscales team is very easy to work with and very responsive in helping with any questions that we've raised.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish they had an Android app for mobile admin. The IOS app is great for doing quick cleanup of incidents.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ironscales gives us better visibility into email threats and cuts the time required to remediate them. Without it, we were not only missing a lot of detections, but were not effective in dealing with the ones MS caught due to the amount of effort required.

What do you like best about the product?
I think what we like most about Ironscales is the ease of setup. After a 10-minute phone call, it was already finding things in our users' mailboxes. Ironscales is so easy to use, just three buttons: Spam, Phishing, or Safe. It doesn't get any easier than that. Add in SPF hosting, DMARC, and user training, and you have a complete email security arsenal. Their customer support and integration team has been great to work with.
What do you dislike about the product?
Our only minor gripe (that has a huge impact on our environment is the lack of comprehensive user access roles. e.g. if you want an analyst to remediate the issue and create phishing/training, you would have to give the user the admin role since someone with the Phishing/Training Role can't remediate and vice versa.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We purchased Ironscales to get away from an antiquated email security platform that was rule based and required hrs dailing to mantian and remediate email

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about IRONSCALES is how easy it makes phishing protection feel. It catches a lot of the threats automatically, but what I really appreciate is how it empowers our users to report suspicious emails with just one click. The Outlook integration is smooth, and the platform itself is easy to navigate. It’s helped us improve both our security and our team's awareness without adding extra work.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface could be easier to use. Some settings take a bit of time to find, especially when you're new to it. We also get the occasional false positive, but that’s pretty normal with email security tools. Nothing major, just a few things that could be improved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
IRONSCALES helps block phishing emails before they reach us, which makes things a lot safer. It also makes it easy for people to report anything suspicious with one click. Overall, it’s taken a lot of the stress off our team and improved how we handle email threats.

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to implement and replaced our legacy secure email gateway. A quick 10 or 15 minutes a day to clear any reported phishing or requests to release spam. Staff appreciates the transparency of emails that are quarantined. Has reduced administrative overhead for IT staff. Integrated well with existing Office 365 services.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the clustering of incidents wraps legitimate email into one, however that is more a reflection of the types of attacks and mostly impacts encrypted email platforms and services like Paypal, DocuSign, and Adobe Sign. While sometimes a hassle it is good to get the visibility.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solved the multiple console problems of dealing with both phishing and spam. Has increased our visibility and time to respond.

What do you like best about the product?
Clean and Simple User Interface. Easy to set up after the initial call and training. Catches a lot for than Mimecast.
Also offer basic user Training and Simulation module to make sure users learn from mistakes.
What do you dislike about the product?
Uses Microsoft Defender Quarantine from the onset.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Intelligent AI usage and learns from the emails the user blocks and or allows.

What do you like best about the product?
I have implemented Ironscales in my last two companies because it's an essential tool for helping protect employees and the families we serve in my industry. In being compliant, Ironscales addresses missing pieces that help give our organization the tools needed to handle issues quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
We're somewhat disappointed in the cost of DMARC module and how something is not provided already to the normal subscription holder.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We haven't had any issues that were needed for support to resolve.
