  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I use the tool to develop technical skills. My company, which focuses on IT solutions consulting and support, uses training to stay updated on new technologies.

What is most valuable?

Udemy Business' most valuable feature is its online workshop.

What needs improvement?

I want the tool to improve by providing more learning opportunities in various dimensions or purposes. Additionally, it would be beneficial if there were specific examples related to our domain, as it would help us understand how to apply what we've learned to our business.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using the product since last year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Udemy Business is stable. I rate it a six out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Udemy Business is not scalable. My company has 2000 employees who use it daily.

How are customer service and support?

The tool's customer support is fast and knowledgeable.

How was the initial setup?

The tool's deployment is not complex.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

You can test the tool monthly and then switch to yearly licensing. The pricing is reasonable.

What other advice do I have?

Udemy Business is only suitable for beginners. I rate it a seven out of ten.

Reliable, enables organizations to train users, and helps users learn how to do their tasks

  • May 21, 2024
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

We use the solution for training purposes. We use it to train our users.

What is most valuable?

The solution enables us to train our users. It helps them be aware of cyber attacks. The solution shows steps to understand how it happens. We do not have to worry about any cyber attacks. We can concentrate on our work. The UI is fine.

What needs improvement?

The stability could be improved. The courses must be more clear. It must provide more explanations in a simple format. It will help the user understand the topic easily and quickly. The tool must be made easier for new users. New users might not get used to the product that easily.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using the solution for a few months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I rate the product’s stability a seven out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I rate the product’s scalability an eight out of ten. It handles the increase in the number of users pretty well. We have around 250 users. The tool is used regularly in our organization. The usage will increase if the number of users increases.

How was the initial setup?

The setup is reasonably straightforward.

What about the implementation team?

Our IT team deploys the tool.

What was our ROI?

The training platform helps us learn and get used to our tasks.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We must pay a license for the solution.

What other advice do I have?

I haven’t had any problems with the product. I did not notice any AI functions in the tool. I have used other cloud-based solutions. I will recommend the solution to others. The product is stable and reliable. We must use it more often to benefit from it. Overall, I rate the tool an eight out of ten.

Covers everything and gets straight to the point

  • May 20, 2024
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

The tool can be used to learn anything. Our staff has access to it. The last course I took was radio communications.

How has it helped my organization?

What I like most about it is how nice, short and sweet it is. It gets straight to the point. With it, I can learn much more quickly, which is way more efficient than spending a month at university. Plus, it covers everything I need, exactly when I need it. I've also noticed that many people use it to improve themselves in various areas, not just technical skills but soft skills and business, too.

The platform has courses on staff management and technical and soft skills.

What needs improvement?

The tool needs to offer a way to save the courses on mobile.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I have never had any issues with the tool. It works always.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We  experimented with other learning platforms. We tried virtual reality training, but it had some technical issues and wasn't very effective, so we stopped using it. We also explored augmented reality, which required special applications and was quite expensive, but it worked well.

How was the initial setup?

Udemy Business' setup is easy.

What was our ROI?

By investing in developing existing employees, we create a smarter workforce. This is better than hiring new employees since you can make a loyal workforce. You may have to pay them more, but they can do more.

What other advice do I have?

You can upskill quickly without having to go through a slow process. I want to understand how the ideal towers communicate. I'm not too bothered about all the extra processes and fluff around it. I want a clear understanding of how it works from point A to point B. So, focusing on what matters and remediating quickly is a big plus.

I rate the overall product a nine out of ten. I recommend it. The tool can be used for constant learning.

Convenient for businesses who seek an organized learning experience

  • May 20, 2024
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

When exploring a new learning area, we use courses from Udemy Business. We attend the courses, analyze the data, and then try to apply what we have learned to our work. It's straightforward.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable features depend on the course. Some courses are informative, while others provide practical projects that you can modify to fit your needs. A specific project we are considering involves integrating new database technologies like Kafka into our existing systems. We'll analyze use cases to determine the best practices and apply these insights to our applications.

The benefits include keeping everyone updated with new technologies and enabling quick learning. Having everything available in one platform is convenient, avoiding the need to search through multiple libraries or resources.

What needs improvement?

The tool needs to improve courses on recent advancements.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using the product for a year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution's stability is good, and the modules follow a standard format.

How are customer service and support?

Udemy Business' support is straightforward.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We also use LinkedIn Learning. Udemy Business has technical content, while LinkedIn Learning has high-level content.

How was the initial setup?

The setup is generally straightforward. It's a platform where you can watch videos, and if you encounter any issues, you can directly contact the content creator. It is user-friendly. Some courses may offer better communication options than others.

What was our ROI?

The return on investment is quite good because you save time and have an organized learning experience. Compared to learning on your own, which can take a lot of time, this platform offers quick and effective learning, making it convenient for businesses.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We have individual subscriptions for five to six users.

What other advice do I have?

I rate Udemy Business a nine out of ten. For individual learning purposes, you can subscribe to multiple subscriptions. Additionally, the platform offers packages suitable for companies.

When starting to use it, I advise searching for the most suitable trainer for your needs. With multiple courses available, finding an instructor who aligns with your learning style is crucial.

I have been using the solution for three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The tool’s stability is good. I rate the stability a ten out of ten.

How was the initial setup?

The setup is simple. We can just log in and read the content.

What was our ROI?

Udemy enriches users’ knowledge and improves their careers. Udemy is a good choice for technical transformations. It is like a virtual college. We can see how many people have subscribed to a particular course.

The tool is very affordable. The courses cost $5 to $7. We pay a yearly licensing fee. There are no additional fees associated with the tool.

What other advice do I have?

The product is very good. I don't know about other platforms. Udemy is very helpful for my career growth. I contact my organization’s support team if I face any issues. Has good training modules and used to run online training courses

  • May 17, 2024
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I use Udemy Business to run online training courses.

What is most valuable?

What I love most about the solution is the training, and I can also use it for online surveys. I like the solution's training modules because the content is rich. I also like the solution's flexibility and ease of delivery of such training. Also, the reference materials are super.

What needs improvement?

Most of the courses that I would also like to enroll myself in are not free. It would be great if the tool provided free content. The solution's ease of delivery in terms of group trainees could be improved. I would also like to see the flexibility of running the tool on some of the handheld devices.

I can foresee that in the near future, we will have to pay for some of the content that is currently available for free.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Udemy Business for three to four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I rate the solution a seven out of ten for stability.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution's scalability is a bit rigid. It would be great if it had more flexibility and ease of deployment.

How are customer service and support?

The solution’s technical support needs improvement.

How was the initial setup?

The solution’s initial setup is straightforward.

What about the implementation team?

It doesn't take a long time to set up Udemy Business.

What other advice do I have?

The content is diverse, and most of the content we use is relevant to the nature of the work we do. We work in a not-for-profit government entity, so we don't have the resources to enroll in some of the paid products. I would recommend Udemy Business to other users.

Overall, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.

Easy to use, stable and there are a lot of courses

  • May 16, 2024
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I have used Udemy for some certification courses. It's a good platform.

How has it helped my organization?

There are a lot of trainings, so finding the right one is up to the individual. I personally look at the clarity of content, reviews and ratings, and the price.

As a platform, once you purchase a course, it's available anytime. There's also an app, but I don't use it. You can attend training anywhere and anytime and track your progress.

I use Udemy Business mainly for the Excel, office, and IT training resources they offer. I usually attend these courses on Udemy or sometimes other platforms as well.

What is most valuable?

The platform seems stable and there are a lot of courses. This is one of my checklist items for this month, to complete one training.

What needs improvement?

We can have something like an organization account. Even for small groups, if we can have some account where we can create a group. Right now I either purchase a course license or attend free courses and then send the link to my team members to join from their accounts. Instead of that, maybe we can have a corporate or group account where we can add people and assign courses to them.

We are not a big corporation with a big training budget, so for small companies like us, having a group account where we can assign courses and track progress would be very helpful.

I would like to see Udemy Business to give better prices that match my learning objectives.

One thing I've noticed is that if you stop a course halfway through and go back to it later, you have to manually restart. It would be helpful to have a restart option because otherwise, it always shows the previous progress percentage, even if you're starting from the beginning again.

For example, if I completed 80% of a course, took a break for six months, and then went back to it, it would still show as 80% complete, even though I'm starting from scratch. So, a restart option would be helpful.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using it for at least five years. I have taken several courses, but I haven't completed all of them. That is one problem I face.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I would rate the stability an eight out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We have a small team. My team is based in India, and I have only three members in the UAE. Right now, I don't have any team collaboration features in Udemy.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have used other solutions. Compared to Udemy, it had a lot of pop-ups and ads. I found Udemy better in terms of the platform. I also tried another one, but that was a long time ago.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is very easy. Udemy is like any other software.

What was our ROI?

The courses I took were worth it, but I can't exactly rate the value because I'm still halfway through the process.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I didn't take any licenses. I purchased courses.

What other advice do I have?

Overall, I would rate the product an eight out of ten. It is a good platform if you want to learn new things or upgrade your skills, especially for those who are working. It is a good platform to get these kinds of courses. It is available.

But again, it depends on each person, what they are searching for, and what they are looking for. In that way, it is good. I never faced any issues with the platform.
