Jira - Best Product lifecycle management system
What do you like best about the product?
As an SDE2 at Awiros, what I appreciate most about Jira is how it brings structure to chaos. Whether it's sprint planning, bug tracking, or just keeping up with what everyone's working on — it's all in one place. The UI is intuitive once you get used to it, and I personally love the simple joy of dragging a ticket to “Done.” It helps our dev team stay aligned and makes cross-team collaboration much smoother. Definitely a key part of our workflow.
What do you dislike about the product?
As much as Jira is helpful, it can feel a bit heavy at times — especially for smaller tasks or quick fixes. Sometimes there are just too many fields or steps to create a simple ticket, and it slows things down. Also, when multiple teams customize their workflows differently, it gets a bit confusing to navigate between boards. At Awiros, we’ve learned to work around it, but there’s definitely a learning curve for new team members.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
At Awiros, Jira plays a big role in streamlining our development workflow — from sprint planning and issue tracking to keeping everyone on the same page. One thing I really like is how well it integrates with Bitbucket. Just by mentioning the Jira ticket ID in a commit message or pull request, it automatically links everything together. That saves a lot of time and manual effort, plus it makes code reviews and tracking progress way easier. I can look at a PR and immediately know which ticket it’s tied to, what the context is, and how it fits into the bigger sprint plan. It really cuts down on confusion and makes collaboration smoother.

JQL is powerful but is not overwhelming for new users and costs for licensing. Late recently with the JIRA I do see little slowness , it could be because of large number of users and data .

Best tool for agile development
What do you like best about the product?
Simple yet effective interface along with the powerful integration with vcs so that the issue is mapped with epic and for each ticket we can see what all PR has been raised. Jira provides different types of ticket like story, spike story, bug etc which are helpful to segregate taks and the story points help us prioritise the task and effort estimate
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes its laggy and even if moving the ticket to another state it just stuck to prev state. one thing which i faced was while dragging the ticket to close it put that to cancelled state so we have to change the ticket state from the dropdown
