Using Jira in the workplace
What do you like best about the product?
Using the Jira platform is part of my daily routine in my role. I like the ability to collaborate with internal colleagues as well as provide customer-facing support in one platform.
With reference to weekly reporting to the CEO, the dashboard and filter options provide an easy means of showcasing relevant details and key metrics that are business critical, in a simple board view.
The SLA functionality helps to track completion rates of bug tickets, in-line with contractually agreed timeframes with customers. The option to configure the annual calendar with Bank Holidays helps streamline the process of omitting non-working days from the SLA countdowns.

What do you dislike about the product?
Although I am a fan of the dashboards, there are many limitations to the tools that are freely available to users. Any gadgets that are free do not have many configuration options which limits their usage potential. Paid-for tools have better options but the additional fees are problematic when having to fund these on top of purchasing a premium Jira package.
With the JQL filters, there are restrictions in what can be filtered in the standard offering. It has been necessary to purchase add-ons to build out more complex queries - again not ideal on the cost-front.

The automation capabilities within Jira Project boards is helping to streamline routine tasks, eliminating the need for team members performing repetitive tasks. This saves time and allows them to focus on the work that is delivering impact to customers and users.
Reliable and Effective for Agile Project Tracking
What do you like best about the product?
Jira makes it incredibly easy to break down complex projects into manageable stories and tasks. I really like the ability to create custom workflows, assign tasks to team members, and track progress in real-time. The visual tools like Kanban and Scrum boards are especially helpful for staying organized and keeping everyone aligned.
What do you dislike about the product?
Jira can feel a bit overwhelming at first, especially for new users. The interface has a learning curve, and some settings are buried deep in the menus, making them hard to find. It can also feel a bit slow or clunky when handling large projects or too many custom fiel
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira helps us stay organized by giving full visibility into our project tasks, user stories, and deadlines. It solves the problem of scattered communication and missed updates by keeping everything in one place—from backlog grooming to sprint planning and progress tracking. As a result, our team collaborates more efficiently, meets deadlines more consistently, and delivers higher-quality work.
Great for Team Visibility, But Could Be More Intuitive for Non-Tech Users
What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate the visibility Jira offers across multiple projects. It's easy to track progress, priorities, and project stages through different visualizations like boards and timelines. It also makes it simple to stay aligned with the rest of the team, especially when juggling several workflows at once.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Jira has solid core features for customizing projects and tickets, it can feel overly complex when it comes to advanced features like automation or scripting. The learning curve for non-technical users is steep, and it would be great if some of the more powerful functions were more user-friendly and accessible for a broader audience—not just engineers or those comfortable with code.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira helps solve visibility issues across teams by providing a clear overview of project timelines, task ownership, and progress. It improves communication and accountability through features like time tracking, comments, and detailed assignation. It also acts as a reliable source of truth for ongoing work, ensuring everyone is aligned and nothing falls through the cracks.

Complex and powerfull tool with some small foolish cons
What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Jira is its flexibility. You can easily set up Scrum or Kanban boards tailored to your team’s workflow, and even create lightweight business boards when you don’t need all the complexity. The tracking of work items is clear and customizable, and the integration options feel endless—from Slack to GitHub to Confluence. It really adapts to how you work, not the other way around.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike about Jira is that some core features feel half-baked unless you use external apps. Time tracking is very limited out of the box. Roadmapping tools are basic and not ideal for strategic planning. You also can’t set Monday as the first day of the week (a small but annoying thing), and there’s no native way to show or hide screens based on field values without custom scripts or plugins. It often feels like you need add-ons for even simple things.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira helps me organize and track work across multiple teams, keeping everything visible and structured. It solves the chaos of task management by providing clear workflows, priorities, and ownership. Whether it’s a development sprint, a bug fix, or a business task, everything has a place. This makes planning easier, helps avoid missed deadlines, and improves team collaboration. Having a single source of truth really boosts transparency and accountability across the board.
It's an easy tool to handle project and tickets board
What do you like best about the product?
You can define the flows, automatize actions and integrate it with other tools like teams or slack
What do you dislike about the product?
some actions in bulk as changing status or assign tickets don't work properly
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Handling new requirements from stakeholders and receiving tickets from users about issues or user request is super useful.
