Robust Agile Tool with a Steep Learning Curve

  • December 27, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like how Jira brings clarity and structure to project work, especially with its ability to organize tasks through Scrum or Kanban boards, backlogs, and sprint planning. The customizable workflows and issue types are a big advantage because they let you design the tool to match your project’s needs. I find the drag-and-drop boards for task movement, detailed issue tracking with subtasks, comments, and attachments, and powerful reports like burndown charts and velocity charts very useful for analyzing progress. Integration with tools like Confluence, GitHub, and Slack makes collaboration smoother and enhances the overall workflow. Smooth collaboration is another aspect I really enjoy with Jira.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can feel a bit complex for beginners and requires some learning to use effectively. The initial setup of Jira was manageable but not completely easy, especially when customizing workflows, issue types, and permissions. The interface felt slightly overwhelming at first with many options and settings.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira organizes tasks clearly, tracks bugs and progress centrally, and prioritizes tasks, supporting Agile practices and enhancing project transparency with dashboards and reports. It reduces confusion, improves team coordination, and ensures nothing is missed while making teamwork and tracking more efficient.

Cumbersome for Daily Tasks Despite Robust Tracking Features

  • December 26, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jira has powerful tracking and reporting features. It’s good for teams that need strict workflows, detailed issue tracking, and clear structure across large or complex projects
What do you dislike about the product?
For everyday work it felt heavy and slow. Simple tasks took too many clicks, the interface was confusing, and most people spent more time updating tickets than actually doing work
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira helps manage complex projects with many tasks, rules, and dependencies. It brings structure and control, but for our team it added too much overhead and slowed things down

Customizable Workflows and Robust Tracking Make Jira a Project Manager’s Favorite

  • December 25, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jira excels in customizable workflows and robust issue tracking, making it a favorite for project managers handling complex publishing or operations workflows. These features align well with structured team coordination, like overseeing schedules and deliverables in self-publishing projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
Jira faces criticism for its steep learning curve and overly complex interface, which can overwhelm new users and non-technical teams. Performance issues like slow loading times and high resource usage also frustrate many, especially in large instances. Users often note missing native features such as budget management, capacity planning, and comprehensive reporting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira primarily solves issues like disorganized task tracking, poor visibility into project progress, and fragmented team collaboration in project management, especially for software development, operations, and publishing workflows.
