Project Management for All Teams (Including Solo Teams!)
What do you like best about the product?
I like how customizable Jira is which allows for use by all types and sizes of teams. While some implementations make it harder to manage (team-managed projects, for example), the flexibility is amazing.
What do you dislike about the product?
Jira can be difficult to manage as an admin depending on the original implementation. There can be a steep learning curve depending on the use and setup in your company.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work across many teams and Jira lets me stay focused on what's most important by keeping my work organized and in one central location. Additionally, using Jira to track and plan work has helped my software teams focus on what's next in their queue. It allows us to have threaded conversations on tickets when questions arise, and allows us to easily link documentation for reference.
Jira Helps Our Team with Work Visibility

Our teams like that it is easy to collaborate with each other while using Jira.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes you might need to go beyond the OOTB functionality and it can get pretty expensive adding extensions.

Jira helps our team with visibility into all the work that is happening at one time.
Best all around ticketing tool is Jira and JSM
What do you like best about the product?
Jira is a complete solution that is flexible and easy to use. The most powerful parts of Jira are JQL, Automation, and the workflow capabilities.
What do you dislike about the product?
The one problem with Jira lately is that the recent updates are of no value (things such as changing names and locations of things) . This frequenty happens as companies grow they start to value change as improvement which is not always the case.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira is the go to solution for our team for most all purposes. The primary function is ITSM though.
Project Management
What do you like best about the product?
Jira is a versatile software used not only by IT teams but also by other departments.
In our organization, Jira is used for project management and collaboration. We have created a board called the "Collaboration Board", which is used by the Service Desk team to collaborate, manage, and follow up on tasks and projects.
It is user-friendly and highly customizable to suit our needs.

The constant improvements on the platform, especially the recent changes in the UI, make the tool really easy to use, reducing context switching. Also, the AI integration (ROVO) is extremely robust and we are already getting Quantifiable benefits, reducing context switching. Also, the AI integration (ROVO) is extremelly robust and wne are already getting quantificable benefits. Atlassian customer support is really good.

Some sections of the admin site are still using a very old UI, making the admin activities less fluid as they should be.

Ideation and product discovery, Agile practices support (Scrum and Kanban), Delivery tracking, Quarterly Planning, Progress reporting, ServiceNow integration, Vulnerabilities resolution (integrations with Orca and Qualys)
Jira helps me organize and deliver on projects
What do you like best about the product?
Jira business projects are the most efficient way to organize all of the tasks in a project, and provide a central locations for work tracking that everyone in my organization can access and easily understand. The flexibility in the views means that everyone can see the information they need, in the way they want to see it. The reporting capability was especially helpful on a recent project where we tracked time for each ticket.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes add-ons that could be useful for us are expensive to purchase.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira solves our need for a central tool that everyone is familiar with when managing projects. It provides a single source of truth of what needs to be completed, and a historical record of who/when everything was done.
Jira is a powerful tool. Almost too powerful.
What do you like best about the product?
It is flexible in regard to meeting you where you are. Based upon needs, we can be very creative on the administration side to provide teams what they need to be successful.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is too flexible. Also, it only focuses on a more agile delivery. We would like to see more opportunity to use it for typical waterfall projects as well. We have Jira Plan, however, if it could also have the options to work like Project Center Plans that would be a huge win for many.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
visibility and transparency in the organization. It helps us understand what initiatives align with a program, and the work that is involved in each initiative enterprise wide.
An Exponential Learning Cuve
What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to integrate Jira onto our workflows thanks to webhooks, email notifications, and integrations with other Atlassian's products like Confluence and Loom; ensuring no one is out of the loop. Our team uses Jira everyday to handle tasks both big and small, and it's easy to give access to new team members thanks to SSO / IdP connectors within Atlassian Admin. Plus, if anything goes wrong in the process, Atlassian Customer Service is able to explain and help to a wide extent.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a day or two you should allocate towards learning all of the different workflows Jira has to offer. It's easy to slap team-managed projects all-around to drive quick task tracking, but when auditing performance and measuring impact it becomes a catastrophe. Learn all of the different transitions that could remove manual steps with the help of automations. It does go a long way.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira enables our team to organize events, onboarding of volunteers & personnel, as well as driving all progress tracking of internal projects. Our team benefits from this as they are able to quickly reference documentation regarding a task thanks to the multiple integration Atlassian has with 3rd party apps and their own.
Should be your go-to PM tool
What do you like best about the product?
As a regular Jira user, I really appreciate how it provides structure and visibility to our workflows. It’s excellent for dividing complex projects into actionable tasks, assigning responsibilities, and tracking progress in real-time. The customizable workflows, easy task prioritization, and built-in reports make it perfect for Agile teams. I also like the smooth integrations with tools like Confluence and Slack, along with the automation features that reduce repetitive work. Jira helps keep everyone on the same page, accountable, and moving forward. This makes project management simpler and more transparent.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Jira is powerful, it can feel overwhelming at times, especially with its complex interface and the steep learning curve for new users. Setting up workflows or custom fields often requires admin help, and even small changes can be buried under layers of settings. Sometimes, the system feels a bit sluggish with large projects or too many open issues. If not managed well, boards can quickly become cluttered and hard to navigate. Overall, it's a great tool, but it needs proper management to avoid becoming chaotic.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira solves the issue of scattered task management and poor project visibility. It gathers everything—tasks, timelines, priorities, and team responsibilities—into one location. For me, this means fewer status meetings, improved collaboration, and clear accountability. It also helps manage sprints, track progress, and spot blockers early. By centralizing updates and communication, Jira reduces confusion and keeps everyone on the same page. It’s particularly useful in fast-moving projects where transparency and structure are essential for delivering on time.
Industry standard for agile product managemrnt - but requiresdiscipline
What do you like best about the product?
Jira remains as a backbone for for our product development process with easy understanding and friendly UI/UX, easy setup for Scrum Master or Product Manager. It's also integrated well with our applications such as GIT, Testmo and Ticketing tools. I manage 3 teams and all the teams are using it on day to day basis.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's difficult to make some of it's labels available in the Plan view of Roadmap. We need to establish the epics in plan with the newly created labels for it to automatically appear in the Plan. The ai revo support is also not very helpful
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1. To track the progress of scrum teams
2. To track the progress of developers and QA
3. To track the progress of Implementation of roadmap items in the organization
