Powerful tool for agile project management

  • August 05, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jira is a very powerful and flexible system will dozens of plugins and integrations with third-party tools which allow us to effectively plan, monitor and improve our development processes over time. It is hard to find a competing product which offers as much functionality and third-party integrations.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Jira is very customisable, it is a bit complicated to manage in the backend. As a Jira administrator, there is definitely room for improvement in terms of how Jira systems can be managed. However, Atlassian have been introducing a flurry of improvements to their tools over the past few months and I believe the Jira admin centre is next on their list.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira enables us to effectively plan and monitor our development tasks. It also provides insights into the productivity of developers and the speed at which we can deliver meaningful value within the organisation. Atlassian's tight integration between the other tools on offer such as Atlassian Home Projects/Goals, Compass, Jira Service Management and Confluence are highly useful to create a single source of truth for managers, stakeholders and developers alike.

Great blend of features for service delivery and project management

  • August 05, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
In addition to having great out of box functionality that is easy to use and implement, Jira is really configurable and extensible so that it can integrate with both new and existing systems and processes.

Jira integrates well with the other products in the Atlassain stack, which when combined deliver a really powerful platform for IT service delivery, knowledge management, CMDB and project management.

When needed, Atlassian support are extremely responsive and absolutely do their best to resolve issues proactively and promptly.
What do you dislike about the product?
The internal reporting retention is limited to one year, which can be problematic. To get around this, I use a PowerBI plug-in, which works but shouldn't really be required.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira has helped us solve the competing demands of service and project delivery - using Jira's "plans" feature gives a comprehensive project portfolio overview making project management much more effective.

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Jira is how it brings structure to project management and related tasks, measurable timelines and most importantly team collaboration all in one place. It significantly helps to keep everything transparent and trackable.
What do you dislike about the product?
At times Jira can be very tough for those who are new to it.
Its interface is not very intuitive also setting up workflows would require technical know. Jira is great however the steep learning curve can slow teams down initially
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira addresses key project management challenges by providing a centralized platform for task tracking, progress monitoring, and team collaboration.
This structured approach enhances transparency, improves accountability and supports more efficient project execution.

My Experience Using Jira for Team Collaboration

  • August 05, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jira makes it easy to track tasks, bugs, and features in one place. I like how it supports Agile workflows like Scrum and Kanban, and how customizable the boards, filters, and workflows are. The integration with other tools (like GIthub, Confluence, Bitbucket, and Slack) is also a big plus for team collaboration.
What do you dislike about the product?
Jira can feel a bit overwhelming at first, especially for new users. The UI has a learning curve, and some configurations (like custom workflows or permissions) can be complex. It can also become slow when working with large projects or lots of tickets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Jira primarily for project management, task tracking, and sprint planning. It helps us manage our software development workflow using Agile (Scrum/Kanban), track bugs, prioritize feature requests, and collaborate effectively across teams. We also use it to monitor progress, assign responsibilities, and ensure timely delivery of tasks.

Great for keeping complex projects organized and moving

  • August 05, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jira helps our team stay super organized, it’s like a central command center for everything we’re working on. I love how easy it is to break work down into epics and tasks, assign things out, and keep an eye on progress.
It is the best way I have found internally to manage bigger projects across different teams, and retain traceability and accountability for work. It connects well with the tools we use day-to-day, like Slack and Confluence, which makes life easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can definitely be a bit overwhelming when you’re just getting started. Some things aren’t super intuitive at first (like writing filters or setting up new workflows), and big boards can sometimes lag. Once you get the hang of it, it’s great, but a smoother onboarding experience would really help new users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking of KRs and the required milestones and work associated with that. This in turn assists us in both weekly, monthly and quarterly prioritisation to ensure we are still on target for hitting our big goals for the year.
It also enhances transparency for both management and our stakeholders.

Is jira worth the hype? an honest user perspective.

  • August 04, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Seamless integration as it connects effortlessly with tools like slack confluence and many more making it central hub for development and collaboration without constant app switching.
I love the real time insights customizable reports and visual boards that help track progress.

Collaboration feature things like comment mentions and shared backlog foster team communication especially in remote or disturbed setup
What do you dislike about the product?
One of the biggest dislike is how complex jira can feel especially for new users or non technical teams as the interface includes a ton of tab menu buttons and specialized jargons like sprint and epic.
Slow performance and loading time as jira becomes slow particularly when loading issue running queries or handling large instance .

Cost and accessibility issue as for smaller team or startup jira can be costly as it cost high for standard plan which might not justify the value of we don't need all the advance feature
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For me while working without jira feels very disorganised as before jira team often struggles with managing task using spreadsheets email or different tools leading to miscommunication and missed deadlines jira centralized tak tracking allowing teams to create assign and monitor issue in one place .

As it resolve the issue for lack of visibility as in complex projects it's hard to know who is working on what and how far the progress is made jira provides transperancy.

As team especially distributed ones need a way to collaborate seamlessly jira facilitates this bh integrating comments attachment and notification within issue.
