JIRA is very helpful in managing all aspects of complex campaigns
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to link related tickets and reference old closed tickets
What do you dislike about the product?
how long it usually takes to load each page
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing many aspects of frequent email campaigns
JIRA - in both SDLC and Agile
What do you like best about the product?
Capabilities for deep customization
Out-of-the-box support for agile workflows
Out-of-the-box support for agile workflows
What do you dislike about the product?
Versions cannot be confined to individual projects (as of release 7.1.x); one sees versions from several projects when selecting a Fix Version or Affected Version(s) for an issue.
Out of the box support for precise specifications in Agile stories (acceptance criteria) is somewhat weak.
Traceability of requirements to specifications to implementation is weak - however it has to be acknowledged that it is up to each user community to set it up.

Development and QA work coordination and planning
Tracking of issues and bugs

Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you need precise requirements management and traceability, look to a more specialized tool or a heavy JIRA plug-in.
Otherwise, for issue tracking and agile work management (no longer project management! :-)) JIRA is great.

Comprehensive... but difficult
What do you like best about the product?
lots of features.. easy to integrate with time tracking software
What do you dislike about the product?
creating a JIRA task can be extremely time consuming... and we often end up having to track the time spent creating the actual task! it would be simpler if there were just an option for checkboxes for simple tasks and sub-tasks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy to assign large projects various tasks as a team and see progress, so it's helped us see where we are lacking in manpower in various departments since we use it to track every departments' projects.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take time to look into the vast array of features.
MD Review
What do you like best about the product?
Lots of notifications to make sure I don't lose track of anything, easy to open and close new and existing projects, easy to make edits to comments and upload/remove attachments without hassle.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the functionality can be annoying. Some features require double-clicking when it doesn't seem necessary (like opening a project from the dashboard...one click opens it in a preview mode, then a second click there opens the full ticket).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Customer support content. The benefits of JIRA mostly involve how easy it makes it to request and receive feedback from stakeholders about various projects.
Using JIRA for project management and issue tracking
What do you like best about the product?
JIRA provides support for different boards, such as Agile Board, and is a great tool for project management. Tracking issues and managing tasks is quite easy. Being able to look at closed issues is also very useful to compare to new issues as well. JIRA has a great user interface and is easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not free, and if you are dealing with a project that already lives on GitHub, you may as well just use the built in bug tracking system there.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our team depends on JIRA to log, track and resolve many types of issues. Bugs, enhancements, problem reports, integrations, business process issues, etc.
A properly configured JIRA instance can really help communication among developers, QA, and business stakeholders.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would definitely recommend JIRA to those in Project Management in IT.
JIRA Review
What do you like best about the product?
Ability to see sprint and backlog in one view so that I can manage my team effectively.
What do you dislike about the product?
With a lot of people with their hands in a single workflow it can get tedious at times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ability to manage an agile development team and review current sprint as well as backlog to plan out working sprints.
Fine project management tool for agile methodologies
What do you like best about the product?
Jira meets all our basic needs for Kanban and Scrum agile styles. Issue tracking is good and backlog grooming is easy. Burndown and velocity charts are nice.
What do you dislike about the product?
Jira is just FINE, I don't think it's anything spectacular or innovative in this space. Admin permissions and rights are a pain. We need more refined ways for users to see where their projects are in our backlog without having the ability to see everything in the backlog.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a tool to manage our backlog and agile boards, and Jira meets those needs, but as we have more teams adopt agile our Jira account and permissions get more and more cumbersome to navigate.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be cautious about deciding who will admin your account - if your teams grow and you branch out into additional teams and boards, admin can get messy.
Jira review
What do you like best about the product?
Possibilities to customize and to usu for as much projects as needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
E-mail integration, which in some occasions fail to work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Incident management solution. One place for all the requests.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great software fot its purpose.
OK Solution for Task Management- Not Ideal
What do you like best about the product?
This software is traditionally intended to be an issue tracker- my team has tried to hack it as a task management tool, so keep that in mind with this review. JIRA is great as an issue tracker and documenting bug fixes. Allows you to tag and track things.
What do you dislike about the product?
Notifications could be better. Even if you add someone as a watcher to an issue, they won't always receive email notifications when things are changed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JIRA helps with accountability and for things to be resolved in a timely manner.
Full featured project management tool, just don't ask me to configure it
What do you like best about the product?
Our org made the move to JIRA about a year and a half ago. It's been great to keep everyone on the same page, increase visibility across teams, transfer information from Product team to dev team to QA team seamlessly. JIRA is incredibly full featured, which is a blessing and a curse.
What do you dislike about the product?
To be honest, setting new JIRA projects/boards up terrifies me. We've had multiple instances of users configuring new boards/workflows and accidentally modifying other workflows/boards in the process. Because JIRA has so many features/options, it can take a long time to figure out how to do exactly what you want to do. It's been challenging to know what settings are global across our instance and what settings are particular to a given board/project.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before our switch to JIRA, our dev team lived entirely in Github. Issues/backlog in Github can't be prioritized as easily as they can be in JIRA. Our QA team had to work in a completely different environment, Product specs lived outside of Github as well. Some of these things still live in other environments, but JIRA has allowed a central hub for most of it. Easily linking of dependencies and blockers has been a great benefit to all teams. Adding watchers to tickets keeps stakeholders informed about progress in an automated way.
