Project management tool with a bit too much customization potential
What do you like best about the product?
Jira can do pretty much anything you want when it comes to project management (tickets, backlogs, sprint plannings, burndown charts, productivity metrics, you name it). The UI is clean, intuitive and responsive and once you have everything set up, it is genuinely nice to work with. We use it daily, mainly as a Kanban board within the team to discuss our progress in the current sprint. It is easy to update an existing ticket, drag it to the "review" or "done columns".
What do you dislike about the product?
As mentioned before, Jira can do everything, but I was a bit dissappointed that Jira can't do alot of things out of the box, which means you have to customize things yourself, and there the story is slightly less positive.
While I haven't encountered anything I couldn't eventually get working, most custom things have to be configured in a counterintuitive manner, which takes alot of time, alot of trail and error, or a lot of studying to understand the system.
Here are a few things that weren't available out-of-the-box, and had to be customized:
- Recurring tasks ("I want ticket X to be created every Y time")
- Multiple assignees ("I want person X and Y to work on this ticket")
- Checklists of subtasks ("To do ticket X, you need to Y and Z")
While I eventually did get all of these working, the finnicky customization meant it took a while to get Jira implemented.

I use Jira every day during the daily standups to discuss the progress of all tickets assigned to members of my team. I mainly use the Kanban Board and Backlog to see if we are still on track and see what we need to schedule for upcoming sprints. The clear UI ensures that we don't forget about important projects and can quickly see if we need to replan our sprint to ensure we handle any problems or delays.
I generally spend the first and last 10-15 minutes of my day just going through the ticket list, updating my tickets and reading through the updates of my team members.

Easy Way to Track and Manage Work
What do you like best about the product?
In one of my projects, our QA team used Jira to report bugs during testing. Whenever I spotted an issue, I added it in Jira with screenshots. The developer could check the details instantly, ask questions in the comments, and update the status after fixing it, no extra follow-up calls needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
In one project, I was trying to update a bug status during a client call, but Jira kept loading and I had to explain the update verbally instead.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For me, it makes testing and reporting much easier. I can log bugs, assign tasks, and see updates quickly without sending extra emails or waiting for meetings. it saves a lot of time and keeps everything organized. it also helps me spot delays or issues early so they can be fixed faster.
