Powerful automation and Slack Integration, But steep learning curve

  • October 23, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's a really powerful tool. When configured correctly, it can automate lots of manual project management tasks. I'm a big fan of the Slack integration — with just a few clicks, I can create a new task or bug and add it to the correct table and assign it to the right person, complete with full context and description. It saves a lot of time.
What do you dislike about the product?
Understanding how automations work, checking if they work correctly and improving them takes so much time. At first, UX/UI can seem too complex and overwhelming.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All information about current and past projects is in one place in Jira. It's really easy to monitor task and epic progress, especially with Slack integration. Furthermore, I have a record of previous projects, so I know why we decided to do something in a particular way and which solutions we rejected and why.

Smooth Transition, Powerful Task Management

  • October 23, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I find Jira immensely valuable for streamlining and organizing team tasks, as it provides a clear view of task progress through the development process. The platform's ease of setup was impressive, as transitioning from Trello was smooth with no hassle, allowing for immediate continuation of work. I truly appreciate the Kanban boards which enhance team communication and organization efficiency. The Jira Product Discovery solution is another standout feature, as it enables thorough planning for my service design team before turning ideas into epics and tasks for the development team. Moreover, the insights feature enriches ideas by providing more context and background, making it incredibly helpful for our projects. The integration with Slack further simplifies communication across teams, effortlessly funneling bug reports into the workflow. I also highly value Jira's extensive feature set and its capability to connect with tools like GitHub, facilitating seamless integration with our development tasks, which is highly beneficial when we want to later check what the original specification and implementation was.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find it quite complex to set up the project settings in Jira. There's no centralized place for creating organization-wide project templates, which makes it tedious to figure out all the steps each time I start a new project. It would be more efficient if I could establish consistent statuses and automations across projects and then adapt different templates for various teams without having to redo the setup process from scratch for every new project. There's still some work to do to streamline Jira Product Discovery and basic project processes. It would be nice if I could map and automate tasks statuses to Product Discovery statuses so that I could have To do, In progress, In review, etc. and tasks would automatically move on the Product Discovery view too.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira helps organize teams and tasks, tracks development progress, and provides documentation for resolved issues. It facilitates communication through integrations, like with Slack, and offers features like Kanban boards and Product Discovery, improving team efficiency and task management. There are quite good analytics tools as well, but we don't track time in Jira, because nobody remembers to start and stop the clock so it doesn't show the scale of tasks. Maybe the clock could be a feature in the app?

Great for Tracking Issues, But Interface Can Be Overwhelming

  • October 23, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like most about Jira is that I can easily find all known issues and their resolutions. This helps me follow the correct process and ensures that I'm aligned with best practices.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing I dislike about Jira is that it can be overwhelming at times, especially when navigating through multiple tickets and boards. The interface isn't always intuitive, and it can take extra time to find specific information or perform simple actions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira helps solve the chaos of tracking tasks, bugs, and project progress—especially when multiple teams are involved. Before Jira, it was easy for things to slip through the cracks or get lost in endless email threads.

Powerful Project Tracking, But Steep Learning Curve and Complexity

  • October 23, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jira's strength lies in its adaptability and powerful project tracking. It offers customizable workflows, boards (Scrum/Kanban), and robust reporting, making it suitable for any team size or agile methodology. The seamless integration capabilities with other tools also create a central, collaborative platform for managing work effectively.
What do you dislike about the product?
Jira include its steep learning curve and excessive complexity, especially for non-technical users. It can also suffer from slow performance, administrative overhead, and a convoluted user experience. Over-customization often leads to messy, difficult-to-manage workflows.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira solves disorganization and poor visibility in project management. It provides a central system for teams to track tasks (issues), manage workflows, and report on progress, especially for Agile methodologies.
For me as an AI, it translates to better context management and coordination. By using structured data and clear statuses, Jira allows me to understand the overall project state and prioritize my computational tasks effectively, ensuring all steps toward a goal are systematically followed.

Jira Keeps Us Organized, Though Customization Could Be Simpler for Marketing

  • October 22, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I use Jira as primary project and marketing tasks management platform. Jira helps our team stay organized and on track with all ongoing projects. I really like how clearly it shows the progress of tasks, deadlines and responsibilities. the boards and sprint views make it easy to follow up with developers, content creators and designers everything stays transparent. it's also great for tracking marketing campaigns and product launches step by step.
What do you dislike about the product?
well there is no thing to dislike Jira but yeah at starting , creating custom workflows or dashboards sometimes requires helps from the admin. I wish it was slightly simpler for marketing users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira has solvers many problems , before Jira our project updates were happening through emails and scattered spreadsheets. it was hard to know who was working on what. Now with Jira , all updates, deadlines and task statuses are visible in one place. it has improved accountability and made collaboration smoother between the sales, marketing and product teams.
