Essential Project Management Tool for Technical Teams
What do you like best about the product?
Jira is my daily project management tool, without jira i cant manage my project tasks, its been more than a year now i am using it , and its amazing , i like it because it helps me keep track of all my database related tasks and ticket in one place, its very organized and makes project management easy even for technical teams like ours, i can clearly see what queries, bugs or optimization are pending , assigned or completed,. the way jira allows me for custom workflows and tags helps me to cateorzie tickets for different database environments, like development , staging and production . i also like that it keeps communication transparent between developers , analyst and managers.
What do you dislike about the product?
overall its good , in everything but sometimes it gets slow when many projects or tickets are open. the Ui is very friendly , apart from that there is no issues in Jira
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before using Jira i use to track SQL tasks and bug Fixes manual on excel or chats, which cause confusion, Jira solved that completely. Now every SQL query change, schema update or performance issue is tracked as a ticket . this helps in maintaining history, accountability and collaboration. it also made our relase process more structured and helped avoid duplicate work. the visibility it give across team is very helpful for timely delivery and issue resolution.

What I like best about Jira is its flexibility and customization capabilities. It allows teams to design workflows that perfectly fit their development or business processes. Jira excels in issue tracking, managing tasks, bugs, epics, and stories is very systematic and traceable. It's also an excellent platform for Agile project management with built-in support for Scrum and Kanban boards, sprint planning, backlog organization, burndown charts, and velocity reports. Despite these challenges, Jira remains one of the most powerful project management tools available.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike about Jira is that it can be complicated for beginners. Setting up custom workflows, permissions, and fields requires experience and can be overwhelming initially. The interface can sometimes feel cluttered with too many features, making navigation tricky for users who only need basic task tracking. Large projects with thousands of issues may experience slow performance, and the pricing can increase significantly as your team grows.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira solves many project management problems by offering complete visibility into project progress and accountability. It helps teams plan sprints, assign responsibilities, and track every issue efficiently. The collaboration features, including tagging teammates, adding comments, and attaching files, ensure everyone stays on the same page.

What I like most about Jira is the project dashboard, which allows the entire team to see what everyone is working on.

Even though I work for a particular company, whenever there is an outage or issue, we experience the same problems internally. During these times, we are unable to update Jira and everything comes to a halt.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jira is truly addressing issues such as project tracking(from developing to review to release to deployment) and helps determine the amount of effort required for a user to complete a task. Everyone can leave comments on Jira, which helps keep the entire team up to date on the project's progress. Jira plays a central role in our Agile methodologies.

Jira offers a remarkably powerful framework for tracking and managing projects, whether you use agile, scrum, or kanban methodologies. I especially appreciate how flexible it is when it comes to customizing workflows, issue types, and fields to fit our specific processes. The way it integrates with tools such as Confluence, Bitbucket, Slack, and GitHub makes collaboration and traceability smooth from the initial idea all the way through to deployment. Its comprehensive reporting and dashboard features also make it straightforward to monitor team performance, identify bottlenecks, and stay aligned with our business objectives.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Jira’s flexibility stands out as one of its main advantages, it can also contribute to the platform feeling complex for newcomers. The interface often appears dense, and some configuration tasks demand a higher level of expertise to handle properly. When working with very large data sets or extensively customized projects, performance may suffer and slow down. The pricing structure can also become expensive as usage grows. Furthermore, maintaining consistent workflows across multiple teams can be difficult unless there is strong governance in place.

I don't like the filtered view structure in Jira. Although Jira has improved in defining custom filters and tracking work across multiple projects, the filtered view feels slower and heavy to work with. The rendering and functionalities such as drag/drop and search need to be faster and more responsive. This aspect of Jira is reminiscent of its older, clunkier interface.

Excellent Sprint Discipline, Extra Overhead for Stakeholders
What do you like best about the product?
I like Jira for the transparency and accountability it brings to delivery—clean breakdowns from Epics → Stories → Tasks, measurable sprints, and status views that make scope and progress easy to communicate. Powerful JQL lets me slice work exactly how stakeholders need, and standardized stories with clear acceptance criteria keep validation predictable. Overall, it makes prioritization, execution, and reporting straightforward.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that Jira depends on manually entered tickets and planned sprints rather than contextual triggers or in‑the‑moment field feedback.
Sharing work outside Jira adds overhead because I often have to export or recreate Jira artifacts in Word/Confluence for stakeholder-friendly docs.
While JQL is powerful, the syntax pushes me to keep a cheat sheet, and for KPI dashboards I rely on BigQuery/Tableau instead of Jira

Loved it's thread modules of creating for onboarding clients. How simply jira integrates with other tools and how simultaneously all can know that what task is being work on.

Yes it has drawback of can't find tasks sometimes. Dashboard is confusing
