Game Changer for IT and Finance departments

  • November 23, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
-Deep integration with fleet of SAAS apps
-Automation and Workflows to reclaim licenses
-Ability to customize usage criteria
-CSM support in digesting contracts
What do you dislike about the product?
-Not able to configure email sends on the platform
-Could use more granular filter controls in viewing applications
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Productiv, we can identify inactive users to reclaim or downsize licenses. This tool gives us concrete numbers we can use during contract negotiations. IT is able to provide Finance metrics that are actionable. Productiv also provides visibility into shadow IT. This allows us to identify unsanctioned apps, and take actions to promote sanctioned apps and secure our estate.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Not only does Productiv provide visibility into shadow IT, but CSMs are actively engaged to make sure you use the product to its potential. They will do a lot of manual work to ingest contracts, involve you in Betas with new connectors, etc.

A great product with a great team to support it.

What do you like best about the product?
Productiv has so far had a very very responsive approach to feedback, suggestions and feature requests.
I've greatly appreciated their transparent approach to not only onboarding us but also finding solutions to the challenges we've faced along the way.
What do you dislike about the product?
Like any new business sector, Productiv as a tool and business in the SaaS spend management space is still figuring out how best to serve their customers.
There are times where we (customers) figure that out with them and they simply didn't know we needed compelling feature X before being informed of it.

Everyone in the space is facing the same challenge and given the pace of production, I'm certain the tool will be incredibly more polished and mature every time I'm asked for my opinion on it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Spend management, by way of transparent allocation, provisioning and utilisation in format IT, internal budget approvers and finance can see.
We can then compare those data points against historic use, overlaid against our current contract spend and term along with a recommendation for what our rationalised spend should be. All without lifting a finger, as Productiv does this all off the bat.
If/When out finance or IT team wish to get more granular, we can absolutely do that too, down to a user level to aid forecasting, negotiations, execution and then subsequent renewal of a contract.

Productiv - A visionary in enterprise SaaS management platform and more

What do you like best about the product?
Before Productiv, my team used to maintain all the enterprise apps in an excel file. With the fast-paced work environment, the information in the excel becomes obsolete fast and requires a lot of coordination to keep it up to date. Multiple people editing the excel file also created data quality issues. With Productiv, we were finally able to retire the dreaded spreadsheet and now my team can focus on the following things than focus on keeping the excel file up to date where license-related information is not maintained,

1. Data Insights the app offers on license recommendation, benchmarking of contracts, apps comparison, etc
2. Productiv continuously working to expand its landscape to add more connectors to enterprise SaaS applications. We started with 5 connectors and in a year we have about 15 connected apps with Productiv
3. Adding HR, IT Spend data from ERP and expense management systems to apps is a game-changer and provide valuable insights on app management
4. User/Teams Engagement - Adoption of a tool vs plan to retire a tool
3. System generated reminders on renewals on a 90, 60, 30, and weekly reminders give relief on not miss any renewal or non-renewals. Since Productiv is in place, we have seen tremendous improvement in renewing apps ahead of time or on time.
4. App Comparison - comes in handy when we try to consolidate applications that offer similar capabilities potentially leading to cost savings
5. Our org went through an M&A and Productiv was a guinea pig in many of the consolidation efforts and Productiv team always available and offered to step in when needed. Productiv is a great customer-friendly organization to work with.
What do you dislike about the product?
Like every new SaaS product in the market, Productiv is continually thriving to add more features and functionality and extremely receptive to its customers. A number of the features that my team looking for like application sunset, reporting options are already addressed in Productiv's roadmap.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have covered this in the "what do you like best?" section. To quickly summarize,

1. Productiv helped us to maneuver away from managing apps in an excel file that's time-consuming and the information gets obsolete faster than one can imagine
2. Adding HR, IT Spend data from ERP and expense management systems to apps is a game-changer and supply valuable insights on app management
3. Since Productiv is in place, we've seen tremendous improvement in renewing/sunsetting apps ahead of time or on time thus giving us more negotiation power with vendors
4. Cost savings because of on-time renewals or sunsets and license usage recommendations
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I highly recommend Productiv for anyone considering a SaaS app management platform. Like any new SaaS product, there are some growing pains, and good thing Productiv is constantly listening to its customers and making improvements.

Comprehensive SaaS Tracking tool that will get you farther than just rightsizing savings

  • November 11, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The tool comprehensive display of data in a friendly interface, easy to consume information for all related functions, IT, Finance, Procurement, Business. Productiv offers "features" per app, which provides data intelligence that goes beyond the simple count of users, for those connected apps it provides insights on the product levels, tools and features used per app.

Productiv also allows to cross your data with your team or function, so you know the level of engagement per department, it drives smarter conversations with your business stakeholders.

We were able to use the "expense" portion to ensure compliance of our policies.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be challenging to convince all your IT and Infosec stakeholders to green light all your connectivity at the beginning. Make sure you have IT support to facilitate all connectors (ERP, HRIS, contracts, etc). You do need to remember to upload new SaaS order forms as you execute them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Policy Compliance
IT Governance
Rightsizing of app licenses
Possible charge backs to business units
Driving smarter and quicker negotiations with suppliers
Transparency in SaaS usage landscape for all business users, not only IT
Smart deprovisioning workflows, saves time and interaction for app administrators
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Check the market and understand the capabilities of similar applications. Do a dry run to show initial discoveries w your data.
