Consent management framework facilitates robust privacy and open banking compliance

  • April 25, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

We have been evaluating Securiti in the context of Australian regulations such as the Australian Privacy Act and GDPR. The goal is to understand its potential for GDPR use cases, user rights, data lineage, and open banking, which relates to Australia's consumer data right. Our work involves evaluating Securiti's benefits for regulatory compliance related to privacy and open banking.

What is most valuable?

The consent management framework is notable for its ability to manage consent across multiple platforms, which is significant for privacy and open banking. The data lineage visualization is powerful for tracking data paths and interactions. The tool offers third-party risk management, business continuity compliance, and aligns with local regulations, which is beneficial for operational resilience.

What needs improvement?

While the software is functionally robust and intuitive, there is a challenging learning curve. Although it touches on operational resilience, there is potential to expand its capabilities in this area, supporting frameworks like DORA in Europe and CPS 230 in Australia.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with Securiti for just over a year, maybe a little longer.

How are customer service and support?

The customer service and support from Securiti have been noted for their helpfulness and responsiveness. The team in Asia-Pacific has been particularly supportive and generous with partners, providing comprehensive assistance and material.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was a collaborative effort. From memory, it was relatively straightforward, though there were a few glitches.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I have been looking at ServiceNow for comparison, focusing on IT services and operational resilience, but my expertise in ServiceNow is limited.

What other advice do I have?

The software requires an understanding of the regulatory environment and is not a silver bullet solution. It's essential to know about local privacy laws and organizational security policies while using the software. Overall, I would rate Securiti a nine out of ten.

Maintaining privacy and ensuring compliance with international regulations is crucial

  • April 02, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I manage Securiti for other people. Security is quite important today. My customers use it for data privacy and compliance. Nowadays, it is imperative to be compliant with the regulations. It depends on the country and the kind of data.

What is most valuable?

Maintaining the privacy of customers and ensuring compliance with international regulations are critical features of Securiti. Nowadays, we are in an international environment, so the rules are not the same in the United States as in Europe. It is important to have an agreement with the customer to process the data.

What needs improvement?

I would say to enhance everything because security is becoming more critical. From a human user point of view, it is essential to be aware of the regulation. It is important to optimize security measures and automate as much as possible. Employees must also be aware of the regulations.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with Securiti for many years, more than ten.

What was my experience with deployment of the solution?

The deployment process is progressive and does not finish. You start with a base, but then you build building blocks. I did not deploy the software, but I was in charge of sharing the importance of security with stakeholders.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I would rate the stability of Securiti as seven or eight, as we cannot make mistakes. Everything is evolvable with tools, so I would like to optimize the stability level.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The scalability of Securiti is not high because we have to customize the solution. It is very complicated to scale, so it needs improvement. I would rate it as three.

How are customer service and support?

Technical support for Securiti is good. I would rate it nine out of ten.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was quite difficult. I work with data and am aware of all the policies. I have implemented many policies, like allowing people access to data and having some users with privilege, but it is more difficult.

What about the implementation team?

I was involved in the organizational aspects related to deployment, such as discussing the importance of security matters with stakeholders.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Before choosing this specific tool, I did not evaluate other options. It was a federated decision to do it in-house.

What other advice do I have?

Securiti has a rating of eight or nine, but we are not approaching all the challenges we will face in the future.

Automation streamlines data privacy tasks with user-friendly features

  • March 03, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

Our customers mainly use Securiti for consent management and a bit of CCPA compliance. We had some integration with Salesforce and were attempting to make it a single source for the consent module.

What is most valuable?

The drag-and-drop features make Securiti easy to use, even for individuals who are not tech-savvy. The ongoing improvements to the product are beneficial, and the automation capabilities are useful for automating data privacy tasks. These features help by allowing tasks to be performed without requiring a highly technical person.

What needs improvement?

Technical support needs enhancement. It would be helpful to have better documentation and more accessible support, especially when raising support tickets. There should be a call-oriented support system to address client-specific issues.

For how long have I used the solution?

I worked with Securiti for more than a year but have not been working with it for the past six months.

What was my experience with deployment of the solution?

I followed the usual deployment algorithm, which includes configuration, testing, and production migration. It took three months to deploy one module.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Securiti is stable, but there were occasional issues like delayed transaction updates. The product should operate in real time, but there were rare delays due to server issues. Overall, its stability compares well to other products.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Securiti's scalability is average. It is best when the number of steps is minimal and requirements are clear. The tools allow for quick building and testing, reducing overall deployment time.

How are customer service and support?

Securiti's customer support is mixed. While the product is evolving, focusing more on the support side would make things easier for users.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I was mainly working on Securiti AI and OneTrust solutions, comparing the two gave me insights into their differences.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was rated seven out of ten. The documentation needs to be more detailed, and the evolving product leads to a learning curve. Once familiar, it becomes easier, but improving documentation would help.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I have also worked with OneTrust's data governance solution.

What other advice do I have?

My overall rating for Securiti is eight. Automating more support systems such as calls with the product team would enhance customer satisfaction. The support should be tailored to various client requirements.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Automated data discovery impresses with robust AI capabilities and competitive pricing

  • January 20, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I have been involved with Securiti for almost two years.

What is most valuable?

Their data discovery is a fantastic product. It is AI-enabled for automatic tagging and classifiers. Once a proper data discovery is completed, it suggests tags to automated classifiers. I genuinely appreciate this feature, and they are competitive in pricing compared to other vendors.

Automated tagging helps in identifying sensitive information. I also find their dashboarding to be very good, including their cross-border transfer maps for data movement. I consider access control and monitoring to be particularly useful, with a module in their NFI domain called access controls and monitoring, which is informative and easier to use.

We also employ it for automated data discovery by connecting to source systems to identify and classify personal identifying information (PIIA) across various assets. Code dot ai handles unstructured data sources, identifying sensitive information in OneDrive and ensuring it is secured from a compliance standpoint.

What needs improvement?

I would like their workflows and assessment automation to be more advanced compared to their competitors, especially under the pro core privacy module. I find that Securiti AI is not as advanced as OneTrust when using OneTrust as a benchmark.

Despite them having connectors and ongoing product improvements, there are challenges with data lineage and updating relationships modules that don't match OneTrust's capabilities. Their data discovery is strong, and their core privacy models are improving, posing a challenge to OneTrust. However, I believe the assessment automation and workflow automation processes require further development.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been involved with Securiti for almost two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is relatively stable. These were read-only accesses, so there was no impact on the production environment.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We haven't seen any scalability issues.

How are customer service and support?

They have a very strong product support team. Even though we face some challenges, they are always there to help us. I find the training modules on their website to be really user-friendly and helpful.

How was the initial setup?

They have a very strong product support team. Even though we face some challenges, they are always there to help us. The training modules on their website are really user-friendly and helpful.

What was our ROI?

To scan 50 terabytes of data, I find their module is almost half the price of their competitors when it comes to data discovery.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

It's a good product. Everyone should at least try Securiti once before making a conscious decision as every organization, environment, and program comes with different objectives. A particular tool choice depends on a small POC, but I definitely recommend Securiti.

What other advice do I have?

I rate Securiti an eight out of ten. I find it very nice.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud

Improved data governance with comprehensive process mapping

  • January 03, 2025
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I haven't been using the solution much. I work for a service company, and we resell some products. Security is one of the products that we resell. I have some certification in security, and I know what it does and its functionalities. However, we are a new reseller of security.

What is most valuable?

The process mapping is a good tool. We have a nice view of their data.

What needs improvement?

With the formation and education, specifically the security education, they could update the educational video more often. The most difficult part is the security deployment. It's hard to estimate the cost. They should help with the cost estimation. When you deploy security, you need to deploy the infrastructure. That's the weak point, the difficult point.

For how long have I used the solution?

I haven't been using the solution much. I work for a service company, and we resell some products. Security is one of the products that we resell. I have some certification in security, and I know what it does and its functionalities. However, we are a new reseller of security.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It's pretty good in that regard. It's a good tool. Our deployments were inside the client environment. We manage the environment well, and the clients manage it, so it's not crashing. I haven't seen any instability compared to PowerView, for instance.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It's very scalable. I would rate it ten out of ten for scalability.

How are customer service and support?

It's not very fast, and it's difficult to get an answer. That said, we've got a dedicated engineer, and when we get someone, we get the answer.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have used Purview, however it is not really similar. I wouldn't recommend it to our customers. It's difficult to manage the cost. We looked at Didomi and Purview, however, the most efficient is security.

How was the initial setup?

It usually takes one month if we want to explore all the functionalities.

What about the implementation team?

We do it all by ourselves. We've got a Microsoft-certified professional who helps us. After that, we do everything by ourselves. It's about deploying the security notes in Azure environments.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The most difficult part is security deployment. It's hard to estimate the cost. They should help with the cost estimation. When you deploy security, you need to deploy the infrastructure. That's the weak point, the difficult point.

What other advice do I have?

I would put nine out of ten.

It's a very complete tool. It's easy to make data governance with it, as it relates to data security. However, the documentation can be difficult to read.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

On-premises

Automating compliance processes with effective data classification

  • December 13, 2024
  • Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

The primary use case of Securiti is to scan and classify PII data in our datasets automatically. It helps me identify and classify personal information without manual intervention.

How has it helped my organization?

It saved about 30% of manual effort spent in data classification

What is most valuable?

The automated way of identifying and classifying personal information is very beneficial. Otherwise, I would have to manually go through the data and seek expert knowledge from data owners/ stewards.

This tool makes it easier to automatically scan and classify based on contents. A specific feature I find effective is the sensitive data intelligence (SDI) module, which is very useful for automating compliance processes.

What needs improvement?

One limitation of Securiti is that it can only classify about 30% to 40% of my data. For the remaining data, even if it is PII, it may not be classified correctly. This could be due to incorrect or missing data in the dataset. Therefore, I still need to do some manual review to complete the exercise.

Additionally, it would be beneficial if Securiti had a feature similar to data mesh, allowing users to directly access remote data through the Securiti UI. This would reduce the need for other tools like Snowflake.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have used the solution for about one and a half years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

After 6 months, We reached a stable phase with no significant issues. However, initial challenges required substantial support engagement.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Scaling up and down was not straightforward, requiring support team involvement. The initial phases needed higher capacity for database scanning, but now only operational capacity is needed.

How are customer service and support?

Technical support can be a hit or miss. Some technical staff are great, but others are not very effective. On average, I would rate the technical support 4/10.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I used Ovaledge as my previous solution. Data classification was done manually, but Securiti offers automated classification.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup faced challenges, and it was not straightforward. Many proof of concepts were conducted to ensure reliable output. I encountered several issues requiring technical support.

What about the implementation team?

We used SaaS version; but implemented in a local cluster. Used a combination of in-house resources and tech support from S.AI (securiti.ai)

What was our ROI?

Securiti reduced my manual effort by 30-40 percent, although our goal is to achieve a 70-80% reduction.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The licensing cost is not very high compared to some products in the market such as Collibera, Alation etc; though it is not the lowest. Ovaledge was more affordable than Securiti.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We considered quite a few other products such as

Ovaledge, OneTrust, Alation, Atlan etc

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend Securiti to others with challenges like obtaining human resources for timely classification. However, if manual classification works for other companies, it's the best option. I rate Securiti as 8/10.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Hybrid Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?
