Instana, great APM
What do you like best about the product?
The way we can easily troubleshoot thanks to the dashboards

the log part that is in beta and not really convincing
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
High availability of our front end servers. We can have a continuous business thanks to that

What do you dislike about the product?
Some functionality, as with Dynatrace Pure Paths, are unavailable, and the developers often complain about that. Instana seems incapable of working with the mass of data when digging deep into the code level.
Additionally, feature requests might be opened, but the voting for these seems to hinder that it will be worked on.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Instana to monitor our business-critical JEE application, used around the world by around 3,000 users in 24/7 mode. Besides production monitoring, we use Instana to check the performance and NFRs in our non-functional test environment, like with peak load tests. With this, we already found issues in the trials and were able to solve production issues quickly or even solved them before they arrived at the user level.
Instana is the wonderful tool for monitoring.
What do you like best about the product?
The details for each request with all sub-requests for services were a savior for a developer, Which enables us to identify the actual request which is causing load on the server.
What do you dislike about the product?
The current UI is outstanding and has more proper details but sometimes the time filter was not working properly with other filters, just want to improve that part.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Instana helps to determine the load on servers based on traffic and helps to debug issues on a server with complete details of the request and makes it easy to debug and find the root cause for any issue on the server.
Instana is great at tracing issues and monitoring our stack
What do you like best about the product?
The ease with which I am able to trace issues through our stack. I find a new problem and can track the request as it goes through our services and locate the ultimate source. I also enjoy the ability to customize the traces.
What do you dislike about the product?
Using instana for frontend issues hasn't been quite as useful. Love it for backend stuff.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Insight and debugging. We know when we have issues and we know more quickly how to resolve them.

- Split based on request params is not there, and only available based on endpoints
- Not suitable for root cause analysis like which line of code is causing issues like in appD

Instana helps to keep a check on the API health, it's a clear graph shows the percentiles and error rates, it is the first thing we check if we encounter some error because it's very good for the high-level metric tracking and can tell you if everything is going the right way.

It is fully automated APM solution for cloud native ,Multi and hybrid cloud applications with a single agent. It automatically discovers building block, trace requests.
