Instana, provides informations I need to know, not useless ones
What do you like best about the product?
I like the charts and graphics. Any time I can arrange a time zone, I can check the requests and bugs. After that, I can go into the HTTP request and get information about the details
What do you dislike about the product?
I wouldn't say I like the queries. I think that could be easier, or another option could be added. Also, every user could customize their main page and put shortcuts to the main page by their needs instead of filtering the services whenever they want to access them
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Instana provides the logs in a better format with graphics and charts. And I can filter and examine them. Also, I can track the system and put alarms to prevent problems
Very Good Observatory tool for the Cloud applications
What do you like best about the product?
Instana used as a Observatory tool in our organization for the Cloud applications. This tool provides metrics and health details about the Cloud platform and the applications deployed and application insights also provided
What do you dislike about the product?
While Instana provides yaml configuration and APIs to modify the configurations, Sometimes Instana fails to show the instant alert or in a way the instana agent fails to collect the metrics. as a developer, we dont have much insights to the tool
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Instana helps to get realtime metrics of the cloud infrastructure and the cloud based applications. Its an Observabiliy Tool. This will help us to get Application/infra metrics and get notified for the criteria we configure
Easy and user friendly monitoring of environments
What do you like best about the product?
What i like best is the simplicity of the tool to analyze issues and find root causes in a smooth manner.
What do you dislike about the product?
What was problematic is the fact that the docker repository of instana has moved from https://hub.docker.com/ to IBM docker repository without notice so it took us some time to figure out this change that was preventing us from deploying new instances.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is helping us to monitor our environments without having dedicated teams to do it.
Amazing tool for our platforms
What do you like best about the product?
All the ways that it has to check the performance of our sites.
What do you dislike about the product?
No bad things to say. It had it in the past but they were resolved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Detects when apis are not responding or there are delays in responses
Configuring instana helped us getting the alerts on time. It helps in monitoring application health.

The alerts trigger and monitor the health of the applications.

Sometimes the exact alerting VM is not easily viewable. We need to dig into it to find the effected VM.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problems like if the system is running out of memory of running out of space then the triggering system helps in getting to know this in advance.

Quick response times to get results and ability to drill down to the details

Expecting more support for MQ related items

Providing average response times and showing the dashboard with any abnormal behavior

Instana provides data from a system, from an application to the outside, so people from the outside can basically judge what’s happening inside of an application
What do you dislike about the product?
Automated way of onboarding new teams, Templates & UI/form to script converters should be available. Lot of config things are done by specialized teams in prod simply to change thresholds using api. There should be more edit control in the hands of the dev teams.

Easy Integration with various devOps tools like moogsoft , Service now, etc...
Awesome insights when learned how to use it properly
What do you like best about the product?
Instana gives an awesome insight on many different situations around monitoring, alerting and analyzing your applications. It comes easy to set up and has an intuitive ui.
What do you dislike about the product?
Well as with any tool, if you don't use it quite often, it is hard to get used to it and know where to look for specific issues. It is not really a dislike, because once you learn it it helps you a lot.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Coming from tools like Zabbix, Instana helps us to detect problems even deeper than just monitoring cpu, ram, disk and the regular things. Also it allows us to detect problems before they are happening.
Solid APM for Platforms - Good Dashboard
What do you like best about the product?
Used for over a decade to monitor our web service integration layer. Always easy to use and customize. When it comes to the things I want out of an APM Instana delivers ease and details. Support is above average on speed and nearly always delivered a solution or workaround in a timely manner.
What do you dislike about the product?
Can fight with some platforms and getting them to talk is an exercise in forum-necromancy and support-desk-tag. We had a few things it just wouldn't ever work with and neither Instana nor the other vendor could or would budge. Check your compatibilities first.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Monitoring metric on servers, transactions, total infrastrucutre and environment health. We even have it monitoring a portion of our mainframe work (integrations mostly).
