A very useful tool for media work!
What do you like best about the product?
Meltwater is an excellent software for media monitoring, creating media lists and media outreach. It offers many excellent and easy to use tools, including the searches, the contact database, etc. I love the fact that it's a very exhaustive product, and you can use just a couple of them or really dig into advanced tools like creating a newsletter or dashboards to evaluate your impacts. Customer support is also the best! They answer super fast, the service is tailored to your needs, and they always solve your problems & questions!
What do you dislike about the product?
I think Meltwater could improve its ability to evaluate qualitative impacts and not just quantitative. For exemple right now the "sentiment" tool doesn't work for Greenpeace (it's almost never able to evaluate the right sentiment - it's just saying most of the results are negative because well.. climate change is negative). In the same kind of vibe, I would also love to be able to do comparative qualitative analyses with Meltwater, for example by setting up a certain widget in a dashboard, I would be able to evaluate the evolution of the media coverage between X and Z year on a specific topic from the sentiment angle, but also evolution of the wording used to talk abt this specific topic, etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's a very strong tool for media review and it's making me gain a lot of time everyday!
It's an excellent and easy to use tool for reaching out to media lists, and again it's making me save a lot of time and also making our outreach super efficient, and I love the fact that I can analyze the rate of opening, who's opening, clicking, etc.

Staff Initiative Works Well
What do you like best about the product?
The Meltwater staff consistently work to help our marketing department meet our goals. They check in to see what sort of issues we are having and how the Meltwater tools can help. For example, we are getting a legislative report daily since it's that season in our state. This comes to my email daily, and I can review it there or click into the site and see more detail.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only dislike is the cost, but at this point it's worth it to our organization.

Meltwater's service is priced fairly and compares well to competitors' offerings.

I think there are times when searching the site seems a bit difficult. There are too many features to keep up with.

MW enables us to find articles regarding our clients and their industries. This is an essential part of what we do.
A great tool for brand monitoring
What do you like best about the product?
In addition to the options for monitoring a brand and its competition, it has tools for presenting dynamic reports, easy to visualize and valued by executives.
The customer service is very efficient, especially the agents who respond to personalized inquiries. They have cleared up my doubts on more than one occasion.

What do you dislike about the product?
The customer service can be very good, but sometimes it is very slow. If there were more agents, it would be perfect.
The table of Boolean agents, explanation of examples and functions can be somewhat confusing. It would be perfect if they could redo it in a simpler way.

The customer service is very helpful and it has indeed helped me resolve my questions, although sometimes it can take a while to be attended by an agent.
Easy to use!
What do you like best about the product?
I love that the software is seamless and easy to use. The meltwater team is always accessible and helps to quickly take care of any issues that arise.

I miss the software they used for capturing video clips. The new software doesn’t directly take you to the part of the broadcast that mentions your company,

There isn't anything that I dislike. I think maybe the searches could be slightly better. LIke out own social media keeps being pulled in.

Its solviing us manually managing all of our social platforms.
Great way to understand how your organization is represented in the news.
What do you like best about the product?
I do like the morning digests that come into my morning email everyday. It allows me to quickly scan what our partner team is either quoted in or if our work is being mentioned in the news.
Also working with your team is easy and they are a big help in understanding how to work with the analytics of the website.

What do you dislike about the product?
The only downside I can think of is that the major news networks do not appear on the digest newsletter. Usually, it is a smaller news organization that has the article. Also, the digest will not show a quote from a partner until a full day after it has been posted.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is solving the problem of me monitoring our partner team and organization being monitored in the news. Allows me a much easier way to see how we are being represented in the news. It saves me time every day than manually searching their names.
Very Helpful PR Platform
What do you like best about the product?
Meltwater makes finding media outlets and contacts covering the issues you care about very easy. The platform consistently stays updated, so I always have confidence the contact info is correct. I also use it to send and organize press releases frequently, and the functionality makes this very easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
While I find a lot of value in the platform, the price is quite high. $10,000 a year is a tough pill to swallow, especially for a small nonprofit.

The biggest problem it solves is making the creation of media lists and media outreach very easy. The search tools work very well and the information is always updated, plus the media recommendations and press release builder are very helpful.

Meltwater has been a fantastic partner for our CNSI team. They're there every step of the way, making sure that we are knowledgeable about what Meltwater can do for us. So many features to work on social media, newsletters and media relations.

Wish for media relations searches we could add more journalists in a search.

Meltwater helps us listen on social platforms and interface with media outlets and journalists to share our content.
Media Monitoring in Higher Education
What do you like best about the product?
The customer service aspect is much stronger than other media monitoring services I have used. I like how there are multiple ways to get help with any aspect of the program including reaching out to a representative, question forums, and mcommunity.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the reporter search feature could be refined. Also, I wish we could compare multiple years of share of voice in a single graph instead of having to create a new graph for each year.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Primarily, Meltwater is helping us monitor our media coverage across the university and our athletics.
