Good tool for PR

What do you like best about the product?
I like the customer service. Meltwater is extremely helpful when there are issues and the customer service tool on the side bar has helped me in the past. I also find it easy to use and I like the features it has to show our clients how well a campaign did.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it glitches and I am not able to see coverage or sometimes important news articles slip through the cracks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps pull in all the coverage needed in a particular announcement or campaign. I use it frequently to pull together coverage reports and pull statistics and data that clients want to see.

A Powerful Tool with Room for Small Improvements

What do you like best about the product?
Meltwater is a great tool that puts valuable news and insights right at our fingertips. Having such quick access to relevant updates is a huge benefit for our work. While the platform is strong overall, a few ease-of-use updates—particularly around the newsletter function and making news searches a bit more intuitive—would make it even better. Despite these minor areas for improvement, Meltwater remains an incredibly useful resource that helps us stay informed and ahead. Our customer support team has been wonderful from the beginning.
What do you dislike about the product?
Figuring out the correct search terms to pinpoint exactly what we are looking for can be challenging but that just may be because of my lack of background in this area. Also would love columns to be available in the newsletter and some text formatting improvements. For instance if you create a bulleted list, you cannot undo it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Meltwater helps us keep leadership informed by consolidating news and updates into one place. This makes it easier to track key developments, analyze trends, and share insights efficiently, ensuring everyone has the information they need to make timely decisions.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that I can search databases for emails for outreach to different outlets. I also like pulling coverage from Metlwater
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it was easier to only pull data/ articles that are from my direct outreach. I want to easily select or unselect to include in my reports for a final number of mentions or AVE.

I think as PR people, we don't always have the time to learn how to use all the functions and play around with the platform so I do wish it was more individualized where we are able to show exactly what we need and have a lesson involving that rather than multiple orientations where we learn alot at once rather than put it into practice
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It pulls articles and reach for me to pull for reporting purposes.

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate how Meltwater allows me to batch publish content, saving me from uploading to all social platforms individually. The tool's ability to track negative comments during campaigns is invaluable. I also value the influencer vetting feature, ensuring alignment with brand values, and the Engage feature for content publishing. Monitoring competitors' performance through Meltwater helps me stay informed and strategic.
What do you dislike about the product?
The systemwide incidents that occur, prohibiting me from using certain features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Meltwater to batch publish on social media, track negative comments during launches, and vet influencers, aligning them with our brand values, making our influencer strategy stronger.

What do you like best about the product?
At my company, we use Meltwater to track media coverage across defense, outdoor, and lifestyle outlets, which is critical for our PR campaigns. It makes it easy to monitor brand mentions and competitive activity and quickly share reports with our leadership team. I’d like to see more precise filtering and smoother export options, but overall it’s been a strong tool for keeping our communications strategy on track.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's iterations have gotten better and better over the years. I've used Meltwater since 2020. Strongly recommended to anyone curious about using it for their business needs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Meltwater helps us monitor and consolidate media mentions across multiple verticals (defense, outdoor, travel, lifestyle), which would otherwise take hours to track manually. It gives our team at Pelican a clear view of how our campaigns are landing, where competitors are showing up, and what narratives are trending. The benefit is faster reporting, smarter pitching, and stronger alignment with leadership on PR impact.

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to look up media sources across various industries and locations and organize target lists. I haven't used the AI features much yet, but they look very promising.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not always the most intuitive interface, but once you learn it get easier.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My company has news that we need to share in local media markets across the country, large and small. Meltwater makes it easy to find journalists writing about things we care about.

What do you like best about the product?
Ability to capture coverage in near real time. Provides useful insights and metrics. The database for reporters and their contacts is incredibly useful. Once you get familiar with the platform, its easy to navigate.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be a massive help if Meltwater could display AVE figures in the explore tab when you are on a specific search and already have access to reach, mentions, and geographical breakdown. For our work we provide AVE along with reach, mentions, and geographical breakdown so going to the Analyze tab and creating a dashboard just for AVE does not seem intuitive.

Another issue I've encountered is that when setting up a dashboard for AVE, the interface is not as slick and smooth as it should be. It often starts to hang and can take multiple attempts for the dashboard to be set up.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
MW helps immensely with media monitoring and metrics. It provides essential data and analytics that help make business decisions. With the introduction of Mira, it would be great if it can continue to get better and provide more analytical insight too.

What do you like best about the product?
Meltwater is great for tracking media hits, especially those that may be harder to find through a typical Google search. Much of my work is on social media. Meltwater collects info from across the web including social media.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's rather complex and the learning curve is tricky. If your company wants to invest in this, be sure you have regular training periods. I also recommend the training/onboarding crew at Meltwater do more hands-on training. The show demos are not as useful. The user needs real hands-on training that is practical to their business to truly understand the nomenclature and search customization.

I wish it offered a better sense of what's happening with print, or provided more user-friendly help when creating searches.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Meltwater helps me track, quantify, and analyze media coverage for specific campaigns as well as our overall brand presence. This data is especially valuable when reporting to leadership, since not every department or industry partner fully understands the nuances of public relations. By providing measurable results, I’m able to clearly demonstrate the impact and value of our PR efforts.

What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate how thorough their media tracking capabilities are, including regional and national share of voice. I also find their media relations tool, incredibly helpful in assisting us in creating targeted media pictures that have the most impact. Specifically, Ryan McCourt on their team is always ready to help!
What do you dislike about the product?
At times, navigating new processes is confusing but again, with Ryan’s excellent customer support, we always find a solution.

Currently, the company is helping us improve our quartile media reports.
