Great product, great service!
What do you like best about the product?
I love the simplicity of the platform and the automatic emails each morning to keep me in the loop of where my company appears in the media.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is very expensive! We are satisfied with the price because of our discount.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I get easy access to the articles which mention my business and events that are held at the Miami Beach Convention Center
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would love to see a lower price on this software!
Great Analytics, User Friendly
What do you like best about the product?
The integration of Sprout into the Meltwater family has been incredible. This is one of the only platforms I have worked with that monitors as many social sites as it does. Also, the new News platform is extremely easy to use and much more time efficient than the old platform. I go through monthly clippings and the way it is now set up, it takes me half the time and I can work on multiple months at at time.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not necessarily a dislike, but we are working to have Meltwater integrate with our Simpleview platform - so hopefully this is solved quickly and we can have the two platforms talk to each other.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Each month we show our board our editorial value, editorial impressions and the top articles for our city. They have come to really like the graphs and I think it is much easier for them to understand.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking for a media monitoring, social monitoring or PR monitoring software, this is the product your company needs. It is not hard to use at all, anyone can do it. I have introduced this to many industry partners who would agree that you do not have to have special requirements to learn how to use this.
Meltwater & UM College of Arts & Sciences
What do you like best about the product?
The Meltwater platform is quite easy to maneuver. I appreciate the service because it is able to capture media clips of our faculty in the news, both nationally and internationally. And the keyword search is vital for us because the College of Arts & Sciences is a very large entity with many departments and faculty members. We also use the service to prepare newsletters of media clips which is distributed to faculty - a service approved by upper management.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the clipping service picks up articles we don't want: events, career announcements, or articles that are unrelated to the College of Arts & Sciences. And when we had access to the media list service, there were some writer/editors I could not locate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I don't believe we have any business problems within our communications office. Benefits of using Meltwater are the company's ability to disseminate news, capture clips, and prepare media lists for press release distribution.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Training service is excellent; they are patient and can walk you through the process of how best to use their service.
Executive Alerts deliver
What do you like best about the product?
We have been using Meltwater Executive Alerts for approximately six months, the platform provides excellent analytics and access to trending topics specifically related to our online communities. Their ability to track developing conversations has been intragal to our brand watch and risk mitigation efforts.
What do you dislike about the product?
As the platform grows we look forward to more targeted searches and streamlined alerts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our initial interest in the alert system was based on monitoring emerging conversations surrounding our brand as we are continuously trying to be proactive rather than reactive. EA's have been extremely helpful in both providing us conversations in which we should be a part of and helping us weigh the actual volume and equate concern.

More robust analytics and expanded platform integration options.

Sometimes I'm a little confused if I'm using the software properly.

Capturing stories as they come out

This year, the customer service has been amazing. I also like the new metrics and interface.

Sometimes I have a hard time running reports and have to contact our rep., Eavan. She's extremely helpful and responsive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The need for increased media presence, and easy reporting to board. Benefits: easy access to media hits for timely reporting.
Valuable tool
What do you like best about the product?
Newsletter function. Ad value function are helpful.

Need more intuitive interface at times. I am fairly savvy, but need to call for service more often than I should have to.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Internal communications. Improved recognition of PR value.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a great tool for many in PR, social, etc.
Useful aggregator of missed articles
What do you like best about the product?
I like the email alerts that gather media on my behalf, so that I don't have to monitor as many websites.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were more outlets that I could search on Meltwater.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This has helped me monitor more outlets which allows me to do more work in less time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I like using meltwater primarily for media monitoring, which has been an extremely helpful tool. However, its best quality is the user interface. It is clean, simple to use, quick to react, and current. I occasionally have issues with search or with getting up-to-the-minute updates on media, but that's to be expected. The platform makes up for it by being extremely easy to use, and for its influencer tool which we are currently piloting.

What do you like best about the product?
That our contract is ending. This relationship cannot end quickly enough at this point. I will NEVER be back.
What do you dislike about the product?
They cannot pull from all news sites. No management around paywalls. The algorithm that tracked sentiment on the stories does not work well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The exporting tool is a great way to track my performance metrics.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Don't get involved with them unless you want people "auto-renewing" your account in spite of telling them (MULTIPLE PEOPLE) that you are moving to another search. Also THEY WILL CALL YOUR PERSONAL CELL PHONE NON-STOP. Don't give anything but your desk line to them.
Meltwater makes my job easier and makes me look smarter!
What do you like best about the product?
Their news report that comes right to my email every morning! It indicates everywhere our company has been mentioned in the news and it lists other news articles that might be of interest to us. This makes be look very "on top of things" when I forward specific links to my upper management!
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't think of anything that I dislike about Meltwater.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can stay alert to what is going on with our competition and we can discover certain needs that are out there that we may have a solution for. We can also stay abreast of where we are in the news internationally which we were a lot in the past year.
