Easy access to influencers
What do you like best about the product?
Flexibility of search. Multiple ways to search.
What do you dislike about the product?
Pulling media coverage is often more cumbersome than it should be.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Benefits - time savings, efficiency.

Great media monitoring tool
What do you like best about the product?
The automated emails each morning makes it easy to keep track of the industry, my competitors and coverage of the company.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of API to connect the data from meltwater with other tools. I have an internal company dashboard that contains all metrics but have to run the Meltwater data separately.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are dealing with a new industry and trying to fix a lot of misconceptions associated with it. We are able to directly work with journalists covering our industry and address those topics right away.

What do you like best about the product?
The easy access to the dashboard and functionality!
What do you dislike about the product?
I would love to see more round up clips included, for example things like the top 10 coats for winter rarely make it into the dashboard.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am able to track news easily and pull unique visitors from the stories that come in.

Sophisticated, customizable, and relevant
What do you like best about the product?
Meltwater allows for a daily deep (but accessible) dive into our organization's highly-specific news requirements. Interface is user-friendly, and Meltwater staff is eager to optimize the service.
What do you dislike about the product?
Would like to see increased integration between different Meltwater services (e.g. housing news results in the Engage platform and enabling direct action on social channels). Increased sophistication for search customization would be welcome too--there's a big gap between "search" and the boolean "advanced search."
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're staying on top of news in a manageable way, setting immediately actionable new alerts to come through as soon as they're out there, while letting less urgent results batch daily.
My Meltwater Experience
What do you like best about the product?
My favorite thing about Meltwater is their customer service. Haley is my rep and has been nothing but helpful, friendly and responsive. She is the BEST.
What do you dislike about the product?
I sometimes wonder if ALL my hits are being collected all the time -- sometimes I know of a hit we got that I don't see in my Meltwater summary each day.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've been able to better track our reputation and brand management, which has been extremely valuable.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely something to consider if you need to take control of your media outreach.

What do you like best about the product?
The professionalism and responsiveness of the Meltwater team, they've been on top of any issue, large or small that can arise without exception. The dashboard is easy to setup and workthrough.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some difficulties in date changing reports matching dates of downloaded reports. Usually a second attempt at the download resolves this issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has benefitted us as a psuedo-social listening tool and most recently as a method of contacting influencers for PR related purposes. Additionally, we utilize Meltwater as an industry new aggregator helping us keep on top of industry and competitor moves.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
In a space that continues to grow at a fast clip, Meltwater offers a no-frills solution that gets the job done with an outstanding team to support and grow with you. They are fantastic.
Digital Media Monitoring & Media Database
What do you like best about the product?
The new platform design. It's easy to navigate, mimics an app, user-friendly and clear
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that Media contacts are listed under influencers because how we speak of media contacts and "influencers" in the industry is different so it took a while to remember that the media database was under the Influencers tab. I also don't love having to toggle feature when having to decide what to search. i.e. sources vs. content. I wish there were separate tabs for these.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to see where we are vs. our competitors which is a huge benefit. It allows us to re-strategize quickly to hopefully take over more of the conversation in the media.

Use the trial and understand your internal business needs so Meltwater can craft a platform of services to best suit your needs

I love the ability to customize searches, this really helps you get to the media hits that you need to know about and that are on topic.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm pretty happy with the service and it seems easier to use than some of the others I have worked with.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My clients wanted more than just counting hits; they wanted to break down coverage by subtopics so that trends in coverage could be captured. With Meltwater this has been simple to obtain.

Sometimes email addresses are too generic or lead to general email inboxes

Use to reach the media with our news releases, build relationships, follow reporters and editors who deal with our issues
Great Use Experience and News Monitoring Service
What do you like best about the product?
Meltwater is a very thorough aggregator of news. At times it even surpasses the speed of Google Alerts in informing us about topics the company is monitoring. The ability to tag articles to attribute them to certain subjects is a huge plus, as it makes data tracking much easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
The report creator is not very attractive and not very easy to use, it should be more responsive. The Influencer Tool has a long way to go and is not as robust as it should be.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are making headway in viewing how often we are being mentioned in the news.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Meltwater is a frontrunner in terms of media monitorings. I would suggest having an account manager setup a trial for you and work with you on determining your company's goals and how to achieve them.
