Easy to use and Great Service

What do you like best about the product?
The product is phenomenal. It exceeds my company's needs and requirements and is also very user friendly. I really appreciate the customer service too--very professional and helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Currently, I do not have anything I do not like about Meltwater. No complaints.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Meltwater to track relevant information regarding all of our business segments.

Very helpful for news and media monitoring

What do you like best about the product?
I like that I am able to view articles that I might not find searching organically. It is very important for our business to monitor the conversations going on and Meltwater allows us to do that!
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish that I could dig deeper into the heat map and pin point cities.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving the problem of missing conversations. Meltwater has allowed us to be a part of the conversation we might not have seen previously. We haven't utilized the influencer side of the platform yet, but we plan to in 2017 and are very excited.

What do you like best about the product?
Meltwater has given my nonprofit a direct point of contact that checks in with me regularly. We have a great working relationship and our representative has always been helpful with keeping us updated in changes and updated to the platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
The new app platform has a pretty hard learning curve. Changing from the meltwater buzz website to the app.meltwater was not an easy transition.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving the immense challenge of reaching out to the media with relatable content. We are able to now reach trendsetters and newsmakers as well as influencers in and outside of our field.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do your research! But know that Meltwater has consistently given us the tools we need to make an impact in the news cycle.

Meltwater is a winner

What do you like best about the product?
The customer service. Our rep is an email away for any questions I have. She's been great in working around my sometimes fluid schedule, which has caused me to reschedule multiple web demos.
The new features, particularly the tracking/analytics for releases are exciting.
What do you dislike about the product?
As a fetching service, Meltwater doesn't catch everything. It routinely misses stories on large sites, like US News and Smithsonian. Those are significant placements.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I primarily use meltwater for its tracking and the media/reporter database. We're continuously trying to improve our reach and strengthen our brand, as our student body extends across the country. The deep database of contacts aids in our publicity efforts.

Meltwater Keeps Getting Better

What do you like best about the product?
Their products are easy to use! And they keep adding more functionality to their offerings which only enhances the end results. I especially like the Executive Alerts and social media monitoring. I see a lot more going on in our industry than I knew of before using Meltwater.
What do you dislike about the product?
The pricing seems a bit high and I sometimes feel rushed to take advantage of a new product offering and that price seems a bit high. I would like to see better bundling of products at a more reasonable price.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're able to track all of our news and social mentions utilizing Meltwater's intuitive tools from the standard Meltwater alerts to the Executive Alerts. Any keywords I enter can be drilled down to exactly what I want (and don't want) to see in my daily (up to the minute) feed.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
They've got so many products to choose from and are constantly updating to meet your demands. I initially started working with Meltwater for the clipping services, but quickly discovered that they did so much more. I really like their offerings and I feel that I am so much more informed about our stance in the marketplace and promoting ourselves was never easier.

What do you like best about the product?
The organization of the search lists is user-friendly and reasonably intuitive once you have been introduced to the basics of the platform. It's been easy for me to get what I need from the platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
Figuring out the boolean search was less intuitive and can be difficult to input large amounts of search categories or to edit previously entered searches.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used to use google alerts for our publicity monitoring, and though that caught some hits, Meltwater is much more effective.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely have the in-person training, as not all parts of the platform are intuitive or easily explained in the online tutorials.

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate how intuitive the new Meltwater platform. The ability to customize dashboards on the new platform is also very helpful feature so that we can quickly track various metrics on our media coverage. Another one of my favorite features of the Meltwater is the volume of keywords we're able to track on a very reasonable budget -- tracking broad industry trends in a rapidly changing sector is a must and it is easy with their platform!
What do you dislike about the product?
We've had some challenges with the email as-it-happens alerts as there have been some lags in the delivery. However, Meltwater's team was quick to investigate what was causing these delays and are looking for a solution.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For many PR people, being able to put solid metrics to their efforts has always been a challenge. With the Meltwater platform we're able to put benchmarks to our efforts so we can report on progress month over month and year over year. Whether we're using potential audience sizes or ad-value equivalent, our senior team is able to track this data against the overall business performance.

Not all mentions are captured -- (Published documents in PDF format).
Spanish media captures could be improved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Media tracking.
Media valuation.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
The support service is great and staff is available to assist with customizing your individual platform. This customization allows for more focused results that are better suited to the types of results I'm looking to get. There also are options to add-on services such as reports (annually, monthly, etc.) that provide an overall look at metrics.

Finding stories, sharing stories

What do you like best about the product?
I like the ability to create newsletters and share stories with with our internal audience.
What do you dislike about the product?
Tracking of broadcast hits is not great. The preview of the hit in our daily report doesn't include a preview of keyword hits and the stations are only identified by their call letters. Archiving broadcast clips to include in our newsletter can also be laborious, as it requires multiple steps.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a long-term goal of sharing "good news stories" with our staff and external audiences. Meltwater helps us identify these stories and share them.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Meltwater is always working to improve its offerings; but, broadcast results require some patience as they work to improve their agreements with outside providers of these services.

Meltwater fills in the gaps

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate the Meltwater platform for its breadth pf services. Thee are many things you can do with it if you take the time to learn. There unique contacts help fill in the gaps where other PR services don't reach. The platform is also interactive, fun and fresh.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's nothing I really dislike. Some of the platform can be a bit confusing but most things have a learning curve. My only criticism is that some of the search features aren't intuitive enough so it can be cumbersome for us. More categories and key terms need to be added to limit searches and really drill down to those that we would want to contact.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We regularly use the news search to help us find relevant stories for our own social media and content platforms. Being able to contact editors and writers directly is a big bonus as well.

Make sure you get a lot of upfront training and explanantion of all its capabilities
