Great Media Resources, but Reporting and Broadcast Need Improvement

What do you like best about the product?
I have been using Meltwater for over a decade. Throughout the years, I have considered trying other media monitoring platforms, but each time I explore a new product, it simply does not measure up in terms of results. Meltwater offers the most robust and comprehensive selection of media sources. I also value how straightforward it is to conduct searches and keep track of my clips. The platform is continually introducing new features, and the team is always extremely helpful when it comes to training on these updates. Whenever I have needed extra support, they have been quick to arrange a call and provide assistance.
What do you dislike about the product?
The reporting and broadcast funtions could be more user friendly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Given the number of clients we manage, manually tracking our clips would be impossible. We initially turned to Meltwater after one of our campaigns went viral, and now, a decade later, they remain a dependable tool for monitoring all the coverage we secure for our clients.

Meltwater allows me to track coverage which benefits me because I can analyze the public perception of our company.

Great for Brand Monitoring, but Can Be Complicated and Pricey

What do you like best about the product?
I like Meltwater because it helps you quickly see what people are saying about your brand online and in the news. It gives easy-to-understand reports and lets teams work together smoothly. It’s a great tool to keep track of your reputation and connect with your audience.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes, I don’t like that Meltwater feels a bit complicated to use at times. The dashboard can be confusing, and it takes a while to find the reports or insights I need. Also, it’s quite expensive compared to other tools that offer similar features, which makes it harder to justify the cost.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can react quickly if something negative starts spreading (crisis management) rather than discovering it too late.

I save a lot of time that I would otherwise spend searching through many websites, social media platforms, etc.

I get a clearer picture of whether my campaigns or messages are working (via sentiment, reach, share of voice).

I can see what competitors are doing or how they are being talked about, which helps me plan better.

I can give stakeholders/report-up with data and dashboards, which helps show impact and justify resources.

A Powerful Tool

What do you like best about the product?
Meltwater is an extremely powerful platform that continues to improve upon itself, whether through added features or opening itself to new platforms such as Discord. The customer service has always been top notch, Ryan McCourt has been an immense pleasure to work with and is always available to answer our questions.
What do you dislike about the product?
It requires more oversight than our small company is able to commit to fully utilize it to its full potential.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Meltwater's boolean search system is fantastic at expanding our reach beyond our initial accounts, which in turn allows us to analyze community input and feedback to get a better grasp on the esport ecosystem.

What do you like best about the product?
As someone new to public relations, I have found Meltwater remarkably easy to navigate. Its features are highly intuitive, making it simple to get started. Whenever I have questions, I can rely on Meltwater's educational resources and help features to quickly find the answers I need.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I dislike is that sometimes a feature is available, but I only discover it by accident when I happen to stumble upon it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Meltwater enables me to measure the impressive media efforts my company is making and effectively convey that value to stakeholders. I find it simple to keep track of how specific campaigns are performing, and generating a report is straightforward.

What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate how Meltwater helps us with social listening and scheduling social media, which is vital for managing our online presence. The social reporting feature is especially useful as it allows us to keep a handle on what is going well and identify areas needing improvement. Additionally, the social listening and media monitoring capabilities are beneficial in understanding what our audience is looking for and conducting competitor analysis, which I find really helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some social KPIs that aren't measured when it comes to social reporting that I think need to be present.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Meltwater for social listening and scheduling, keeping us aware of important comments and hot topics. It helps manage performance and competitor analysis, improving our strategies effectively.

What do you like best about the product?
Having access to tutorials and a community of Meltwater users helps in the process of onboarding the software. The tutorials are simple to follow and understand, making implementation easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
With the large number of features offered, it will take some time to truly understand and integrate each aspect.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Meltwater allows us to keep a pulse on our company's mentions throughout the different media outlets. This allows us to have a fast response time on any crises or good news we could highlight.

What do you like best about the product?
Meltwater has helped us efficiently pull together daily clip reports for our business leaders to stay abreast of daily news within our peers and competitors. What do you like best about the product?
That I can reach a dedicated person with questions and optimizations without having to go through all kinds of automated processes. I also like that there are always new updates and features being rolled out and even though some aren't always applicable to my business, I appreciate there's something for everyone.
What do you dislike about the product?
The integrations are clunky, tough to use, and require what seems like more maintenance than should be required in modern times for the customer to do.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mostly measuring and cataloguing our earned media metrics and developing ongoing dashboards to advise leadership on status and growth of our efforts. Also have an internal goal to use Meltwater at a higher utilization rate which is something our CEO likes to hear about.

What do you like best about the product?
My favorite Meltwater feature is the dashboard feature. I love the optionality it provides in measuring all kinds of data and even leverages AI to analyze some of it for me. This has saved me so much time in my reporting for clients.
What do you dislike about the product?
Meltwater can focus on improving it's new AI feature Mira. I haven't used this capability that much because competitors like ChatGPT have been able to perform better, but I would be open to using it if Meltwater can refine the features a bit.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Meltwater is helping me quantify how my clients work is performing in the media. This is beneficial to my work because we can use Meltwater to track KPIs and assess whether different elements of our strategy worked or not.
