Makes My Job Easy to Do

What do you like best about the product?
Meltwater is the easiest media monitoring tool I have used. It also makes it easier to find the journalists I am trying to reach.
What do you dislike about the product?
Only a couple of us can log in at one time, so that can cause a problem.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to monitor media mentions and social media mentions. It is easier to track than other tools out there.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it out and you will love it!

What do you like best about the product?
Used it two years ago and was disappointed with how few contacts it had, though liked the topic search. But explored it more recently and was much more impressed with the new optimizations in terms of search possibilities and global reach of contacts. My org almost switched to it.
What do you dislike about the product?
the scope of contacts, how its not friendly to blast to contacts and lack of reach in as many countries as vocus
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
need a database that can reach global contacts and allows you to send blast emails to contacts.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Not great if you are a global org. However, the targeted search is super helpful if you are often search for niche targets in very specific industries

Imperfect but gets the job done

What do you like best about the product?
I like the search options for boolean or keywords when doing a scan. It also impressively goes back years. There are also many search options when looking for a reporter such as you can search by outlet, journalist, DMA, or beat and then within a filter, search for keywords which is great. I also like that you can save lists or export lists very easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
Meltwater does not do a good job of keeping up with when reporters change outlets or beats. There is also no way for a user like myself to send a ticket to the Meltwater folks alerting them of the change, which would make corrections in the database faster. Many reporters also have the generic newsdesk as their e-mail. And there are often typos in names that is embarrassing when sending a mail merge. Also, they do not catch WSJ or NYT articles.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Meltwater helps with media monitoring and creating media lists. It saves time of searching outlet by outlet.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a great tool but definitely not exhaustive when creating media lists and not always up to date. Always double check.

What do you like best about the product?
The influencer database of media contacts is easily searchable by different categories, from beats to geography to roles; Media contacts are also searchable by a topic or keyword that might be trending in the news,
What do you dislike about the product?
They haven't updated their product to include the option to create a news release template, and only recently was it possible to add our company logo to our distributions; Building a targeted media list is generally cumbersome, in some cases a two-hour task.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating more awareness of our organization and its mission. After a year using this product, our benefits have been minimal.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that Meltwater has the ability to send out emails to multiple recipients at once without having them all CC'd and how it makes finding reporter emails so much easier for me. I also like that we get reports twice a day that let us know where our clients were mentioned.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes there are glitches in the system that make it hard to send emails or find people's contact info, but that can happen on any platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are trying to reach the right reporters and publications for our clients and Meltwater helps us find the right people and publications to reach out to. It also has made pitching easier since we can email so many reporters at once.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a great platform that has helped my whole company do their jobs more efficiently.

What do you like best about the product?
Provides comprehensive synopsis of media coverage in an easy-to-use format.
What do you dislike about the product?
Does not cover social media integration well and the simple interface sometimes is too simple, making elements like content reach, and other pertinent details, hard to find.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The tool is very helpful for tracking media coverage and my teams use it on a daily basis to do so.

Good service - comprehensive analytics

What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate the customer service team. They go above and beyond when offering to help create reports answer questions using the software.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the qualitative analytics, like sentiment, were not always accurate and not able to be edited. The tools, while intuitive, still often had to have a manual review to make sure things were being exported correctly. We had to delete many rows after exporting mentions that actually did not apply.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a comprehensive tracking website. It integrates social really well.

What do you like best about the product?
It's definitely very easy to use - just about anyone could figure out how to run a quick report.
What do you dislike about the product?
It capabilities are very restricted and the interface seems like a 1990's website.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I get asked to quantify brand/campaign awareness and I do that through social analytics programs such as Sysomos.

I would choose a different product.
