What do you like best about the product?
Prince-our rep. He is super helpful, always patient walking us thru our issues. and offering some great tips to help us with our media coverage
What do you dislike about the product?
i wish the new platform was more intuitive....seems like there are lots of steps (i.e. setting up an AVE or a media search) that are not readily visible and make sense to set up this kind of report
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
providing us with media lists that we'd have to compile ourselves which is very time consuming.

What do you like best about the product?
The customer service! My rep and the other Meltwater team members I've worked with are highly knowledgable and helpful. They bring great ideas to the table and share what they've seen work with other clients while maintaining client anonymity. It's been a very positive professional experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
Filtering out search clutter is very manual. There is a Boolean query builder, but it's a little clunky in my experience. If you know how to build Boolean queries, it's not too bad, but if you're new to it, it can be a challenge.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Meltwater has been a great tool for our organization to use to measure media mentions and sentiment. It helps us pick up on small, local publications and outlets that may otherwise fly under the radar. We've also been able to more easily communicate our industry-specific news to very targeted audiences of influencers.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Meltwater is a great, affordable solution for those looking for media monitoring or influencer database access.

Limited email lists take more time to use when doing local to national media outreach.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that we can publish using custom URLs that automatically pull in the appropriate UTM parameters per channel. This saves a lot of time - we used to do this using a more manual process.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike when publishing the same piece of content to multiple social channels, the utm_source = multiple. It would be great to be able to publish to multiple channels, yet still have the utm_source align with the appropriate channel rather than "multiple."
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are improving time-management with regards to social media monitoring. The Engage platform is much more user-friendly than our previous management tool.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
As far as publishing content on social, understand media file constraints and restrictions of the platform is important. E.g. cannot publish Video to Instagram through Engage. When publishing a message to both Facebook and Twitter, uploading an image will only post to Facebook, and your tweet will post without an image. For users publishing a lot of content, these small things add unnecessary extra steps.

I also recommend understanding whether or not engagement on paid Facebook ads will come through Meltwater. We were under the impression that we would be able to monitor comments & other engagement on paid FB ads, however that doesn't seem to be the case.

What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate the ability to customize the reporting functionality and the ease of use of the tool. I also appreciate the customer service provided by Meltwater- our rep is always available to provide prompt service if we need assistance.
What do you dislike about the product?
The reports we run typically require the system to mine a lot of data so once in a while we have difficulty getting the reports to run in a timely manner.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Meltwater helps us target our media outreach efforts, monitor our media coverage and measure our share of voice within our industry and chosen markets.

Great Customer Service and Training

What do you like best about the product?
In the short period of time we have been customers (2 months), we have received excellent customer service and training on the platforms we have purchased. Attention and response have been key with our experience and it has been excellent.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few items within the platform (Engage) that were explained to us during our multiple sales calls that would be part of the experience, but we are finding now as customers that they actually don't exist. For instance, monitoring Facebook ad comments.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smaller budgets and consolidating how many vendor contracts we have. Where the opportunities are to merge efforts - PR + social being a big area that Meltwater solves for within our organization.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be sure to ask a lot of questions and really learn the product before you purchase. The team is very knowledgeable and really care about the product.

What do you like best about the product?
Meltwater is a quality service that delivers on what they promise. The new interface is excellent. It's easy to generate custom reports and integrate results into our dashboard.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to take advantage of more services, but the pricing doesn't allow it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Strong analytics and reporting. I'm able to analyze the performance of my team and accurately report on our media relations efforts. I'm able to report to our board and others on our performance and show the success we're having.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be sure to know what you want from the product and how you're going to use the information. No point in paying for information that you're not going to act on.

What do you like best about the product?
The interface is very user-friendly and the platform is speedy, especially compared to Meltwater's older version.
What do you dislike about the product?
The media contact database could be cleaned up significantly. Some articles don't come across in the Inbox.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're not really solving any problems when it comes to Meltwater. The benefit of the platform, however, is the ability to deliver reliable media reports for our clients.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's a great tool for analyzing, monitoring and targeting media, however, you can not send wires releases in the platform.

What do you like best about the product?
Automating the media monitoring experience is great. We're too busy to Google ourselves and try to keep up!
What do you dislike about the product?
Putting in negative keywords can be very time-consulting, and the platform takes a long time to process this information.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
You get out what you put in. A great tool of you have time to manage it, as it can save a lot of time.
