Great experience using Meltwater
What do you like best about the product?
In my company, I am in-charge of doing health checks on our social media platforms which includes listening on all mentions of our brands across all channels. Meltwater made my job easier by providing all the data I needed in one database. The metrics available within the tool have greatly helped me assess our online engagements.
What do you dislike about the product?
The tool doesn't allow Instagram comments from a certain post be downloaded.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
it allowed us to track which news sites have mentioned us and which ones have not. With this, we were able to increase our reach by tapping into news sites with high impression rates which were not in our PR list previously.

Meltwater is perfect for tracking mentions or any keywords relavant to your business!

UI and ease of navigation between the platform functions

Tracking media mentions of specific keywords with ease while being able to add parameters to customize my searches to save time on processing/cleaning up the results

Meltwater is much more user-friendly than its competitors, which is a big plus if you want to get started quick with some media monitoring and social listening.
Slick user experience, combined with deep analytics.

Really impressed with the analytics options, being able to dig deeper into content performance is a massive plus.
What do you dislike about the product?
The user interface could be improved slightly to make it a more easy user experience

Digging deeper analytically has made our content much more audience led, finding out what content they respond to and what they don't.
Great Media Monitoring + A lot of maybe needed extras
What do you like best about the product?
Excellent media monitoring and reports that heal me easily/cleanly share the info.
What do you dislike about the product?
Like a lot of tools, it's mildly intuitive but you really have to dig in to learn to use it quickly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
PR and media monitoring is neededed. We have many SMEs published and need a cohesive capture of all our press and bylines over the course of the year.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If media monitoring is needed, yes, you should explore. There are a lot of tools within Meltwater, some are up charge. They are great with customer support, but they are also an active sales organization. There will be calls and inquiries about upgrading to the latest service and expanding tools.
Great social listening and widgets
What do you like best about the product?
I think their social listening software is some of the best out there. Their reporting and widgets are great and pretty easy to set up. Their support is quick and responsive. I have also used Cision, and I felt Meltwater's online clips come in much faster and cover more outlets.
What do you dislike about the product?
I hate when it's time for my renewal to come around. It feels like I am dealing with a used car salesperson every time, including bringing in a closer. I feel like they nickel and dime for every service add-on, and every add-on is thousands more. I also don't like that some of their widgets don't have a max of tags. I would love to create some charts with more than just 5 tagged topics. Their media contact database isn't that helpful as I am constantly requesting updated contact info.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Social listening, media monitoring, and reporting. I loved their new Explore feature and the quick ability to sort out the impact of certain posts and quickly create a widget based on that data.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be prepared for long pricing talks and a lot of back and forth. There is wiggle room for pricing, so don't be afraid to push back. Check out other tools first to have a price comparision.

What do you like best about the product?
The best feature of the tool is to figure out the negative comments via keyword trafficking. This feature helps us to understand where the brand/client has to develop their services.
What do you dislike about the product?
I didn't dislike anything; they were some words that have not been filtered; upon the request with the support team, we could track them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We track the positive and negative comments on social media how the customers are satisfied with the services or offers from the clients.
These features help us to understand which section the client has to improvise and needs to focus on.

I have used Meltwater in the past. It was a fantastic social listening experience with Melt Water.
What do you like best about the product?
I liked the social media analysis of keywords related to my Brand Name, University of Petroleum, and Energy studies. It always helps you to create a good ORM strategy when have have insights about your Brand and hashtag campaigns. Also, the competitor information helps us to make a better strategy for the brand.
What do you dislike about the product?
Costing is on the higher side. Not every brand can afford it.

Meltwater's listening capabilities and social capabilities are one of the best. Customisation and support is very personalised.

The User experience for first-timers can be better

Initially we ahd subscribed Meltwater for listening, later on we took the whole suite and were using it for PR, Social Media and ORM

Great Customer Service and A Lot of New Additions

My rep - Mathew, is awesome. He is always willing to help whenever I am in a fix or need something fast.

It is pricey. They continue to add new features that if selected can rapidly increase the costs.

Getting press releases on the National and International wire. Having a database of media contacts to share the release info with.
