Amazing for ideas and collaboration

  • April 22, 2021

What do you like best about the product?
Miro is an incredible tool for planning projects and collaborating as a team, especially while we're all working remotely. But safe to say, we'll be keeping Miro beyond our return to the studio as we've found its features so easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only downside to using Miro is it leaves us with a challenge of how we'll return to in-person planning and workshop facilitation! Having everything on screen for all to see that doesn't involve writing up notes and sharing photos has been a blessing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've found it quick and easy to create plans, workflows, and basic schematic diagrams that need to show a direction of travel or demonstrate a process. We've used it with clients to plan websites, capture personas, and map out functionality which has been super quick and easy for everyone on our team to use.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Miro is an excellent tool for planning workflows and sharing ideas across a remote team.

A Brilliant and Versatile Planning Tool

What do you like best about the product?
Miro has many free-form applications. It's great to get lots of ideas on a page before you start to organize them. It is always my first stop for any new project.

The collaboration function has been essential during lockdown to run team workshops and present complex process plans. It is really helping shape the future direction of our organization.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't found anything yet - it is simple and intuitive compared to some of the others I have used. I cant say I use the templates much - though i have tried - i always find they dont quite suit my purpose - maybe some more to choose form or submitted by users?
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I find Miro is a great starting point for formulating plans and processes. I have used it for Staff Planning and development, new project planning, process frameworks, creating and running virtual workshops.

Using Miro at the start of a project or porcess saves us a lot of time getting everyone on the same page.

A Solid Teaching Tool with Room for Improvement, even if you still use NPS ;)

What do you like best about the product?
I use Miro primarily as an online whiteboard for teaching and organizing my thoughts. I really appreciate its interactive teaching format, which is ideal for developing ideas with colleagues. Miro offers a shared space where participants can engage by moving sticky notes, sorting information, and working with templates, making collaborative work much smoother. I find it particularly user-friendly and straightforward; even a brief five-minute introduction helps others navigate it effectively. It's a clean, efficient online whiteboard that enhances collaboration significantly.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find it challenging to locate my boards within Miro, especially since I work on multiple projects across different accounts. It's often difficult to find the specific board I need, as the organization and visibility of my most important boards, or collections, don't always align with my needs. Some of the main collections or folders tend to become invisible for unexplained reasons, whereas others that I rarely use are easily accessible. Additionally, there used to be no way to search for boards across different accounts or folders. This lack of comprehensive search functionality is particularly frustrating, as it forces me to manually jump between accounts or folders to locate what I need. I wish there was a seamless way to search and access all my boards in one place, at least by title.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Miro for teaching and organizing ideas, benefiting from a shared space where colleagues can interact by moving stickies and using templates. It's easy to use, making online collaborations clear and efficient.

Preparing and creating powerfull presentations to start teamwork on my topics

  • April 22, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The flexibility to "play" on the whiteboard.
Organizing all ideas - just start collecting inputs and informations - then finding the workflow to get results.
All information on one well organized (by me :-)) board. It is so easy using the frames to organize in the second step.
My first steps in the online training!
What do you dislike about the product?
Some untypical behavior of the software.
I.e. "Add tag": I need to position the cursor first before entering the tag name. I would request to "Add tag" and directly start writing.
Sometimes I am losing the boards for a short time. After some seconds, it's all ok by starting the software new. I am using the Windows 10 App. Sometimes I need to log in using the browser to get the data. This time "between" makes me very nervous - losing all my data, losing all my work
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am working as Product Owner in large and complex software projects.
I can manage my personal overview and share this with colleagues. Help them to understand.
Personal Kanban - very powerful.
It is easy to find the information (on my borads) I am searching for.
I can use my boards as presentations without a lot of extra work.
I love the drawings possibilities creating data workflows and more.

Miro transformed the way I do creative consultancy and interact with clients

  • April 22, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Miro has the flexibility of a real whiteboard, yet better. The ever-growing toolkit contemplates almost every aspect of running a creative session, workshop or training. Their also fast-growing library of templates provides great examples and ideas to improve the sessions constantly or create an activity in no time.
What do you dislike about the product?
Though it’s very easy to use, some of the tools and gestures don’t follow the same logic of MacOS or applications like PowerPoint or Keynote. This requires some adaptation. And Miro’s logic is not always the one that makes more sense. Also the choice of fonts is very basic.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In a world where remote work and interaction have become a necessity, Miro has helped to reduce Zoom fatigue and engage people as much as in person, with some benefits of doing it online, like anonymous participation (some people find this less distressing) or keeping a digital record of any session.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The templates library is a gold mine of resources and learnings. I’ve also considered Mural (which has very similar features) but leaned in the end towards Miro because of the cleaner interface that makes it less intimidating for first-timers. There are many plans that cover pretty much any business case and it offers the flexibility to change as the needs change. For most clients, the onboarding is mostly painless and even fun. Some might feel too intimidated by technology (not Miro’s fault) yet I still use Miro to take notes while discussing and brainstorming and share my screen.

What do you like best about the product?
Miro has helped my startup to collaborate all the information within the team. Showcase all the info in one place as well as edit them live. For people joining my team, i need not start from the beginning because the information is already out there. For documenting the whole journey of our company since the beginning, miro has become indispensable and highly recommended for all teams who would love to document and collaborate seamlessly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing much! its a great tool.
There are sometime this reloading time that it takes, and it takes time to get updates. Sometimes previous data gets lost.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Putting all the information of the product development process.
Discussions and design related issue sharing.
Making process Architectures.
A start guide for new employees for the company
Design Research and for developing business model canvases.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Miro plugin with notion is having some issues.
Everything have workd well till now.

Amazing collaboration tool

  • April 22, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The fact that I can visualize processes and work on them simultaneously with my team. It makes also onboarding of new team members on the team much easier because instead of sharing long guidelines on how we work, we can share a simple diagram that we can update easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't think of something in particular but I would like to have more templates for diagramming and also I miss the different levels of contributing to a board. For example, it would be handy to have 'suggesting' mode on so that everyone can share ideas that the 'owner' of the board can accept or dismiss.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Clarity of internal processes and real-time collaboration. I can simplify sharing information with my team and also enable other team to have the tool to work smarter and more efficiently. I also save time from writing long texts or endless brainstorming sessions. Now, brainstorming is a seamless and creative process.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You can take some time to get acquainted with all the different possibilities Miro offers. Sometimes, I've noticed that I use it for simple functionalities but being onboarded in more of the features it has, could solve problems I wasn't aware I could do with Miro. Also, it would be helpful to have more prompts when using the platforms, because honestly I don't read emails.

Excellent collaboration tool - use it for everything

What do you like best about the product?
Miro has transformed the way we work across multi-disciplinary teams. It's fast, intuitive and has the right tools for digital product development - from discovery all the way to production. It's become such a part of my own toolkit that I use it for personal brainstorming, planning, objective sessions and design reviews. I even use it to plan and discuss schoolwork with my kids
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing I dislike about Miro - it's super useful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Miro helps our cross-disciplinary product squads to collaborate and work remotely. It solves the problem of not having a whiteboard. However, it's 100% better than an actual whiteboard. For a start, the Miro boards persist and serve as a reference to work done and decisions.

As a group of Leads, we use Miro on a weekly basis to plan and track progress against OKRs.

It's also a great place to keep reference boards - the type of stuff you'd have on a big wall in the office: visual identity, latest designs, personas.

Great all around project planning tool!

  • April 22, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The premade templates are helpful when first getting started, but honestly the fully customizable and arrow linking different parts of the board together to show relationship has proven time and time again as an invaluable asset. It also has desktop apps available if you are one of us that don't like working with 100 browser tabs open as part of your workday.

The search tool makes it easy to find text within a board and takes you to that element. The interface is a quick learn; however, it still provides some extra benefit over time as you become more experienced with the many ways to customize and organize a board.
What do you dislike about the product?
I've used a board as a long-term planning tool, and I've noticed that as the content grows, it starts to lag a bit on the first load. This isn't terrible and is expected on any large data project, but it makes selecting an element impossible until the load catches up, which can be a bit frustrating if you need to edit a single value quickly.

Also, at the time of this writing, if one user opens up a card, the other users on the board can't open it and view it simultaneously. That means you'll have to use another video conferencing tool in conjunction if you need all the participants to see the card and interact with the board at the same time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I think most users use it as a short-term planning tool to help out with meetings, but honestly it's great for keeping track of large projects that don't fit into typical planning formats. (Like lists.)
