I can't imagine a workshop without Miro

  • April 23, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I learned about Miro back in 2018. I always knew I needed to plan things visually, to see the bigger picture. Before I started working in the design industry, I had used it for planning projects at school. Then, I started creating my first projects as an aspiring UX Designer. I used to use Miro as a tool for myself, only after I started working in the industry, I discovered its possibilities.

I love the fact that I can collaborate in real-time with remote teams. At this point, it's the new normal for me, especially in the pandemic. I really appreciate the fact that the setup is so easy and I can prepare a workshop in no time. Another thing is that I don't need to waste paper and it's super important for me, I've always felt like you can't design without a gazillion of post-its. Turns out - you can!
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes I find it hard to adjust visuals to my liking. I wish I could customize post-its more.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I conduct workshops with clients, as well as brainstorm with my team at work. I realized that Miro makes it much easier for me to gather my ideas and have them stored somewhere. It's nowhere as easy with writing things down on paper. Whenever I start a new project, I say "Let me Miro that!" and I create a board.

Miro as a tool to create

  • April 23, 2021

What do you like best about the product?
The opportunity to create things in a team and can share my opinion with a lot a of facility because it has all the tools that I need for express my opinion. Also, it has a very beautiful interface so kind of friendly to interact with it.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a bit challenging to build wireframes. I also work with whimsical because for me its more easy to build wireframes. I think that it has more option that can help build an interface. Also, I would be awesome to automate some reminders inside the app, like notifications in an exactly hour because I would like to track projects in real time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Build digital workshops where all the people can participate and draw their opinion. One of the benefits is that you have all the tools in one place.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Ensure that all your team has a basic concept of team collaboration because, in the beginning, it would be kind of difficult to familiar with the interface. I had de experience to run a workshop with my teams and can't get all involved because some of them didn't know how to use precisely the app

A Fantastic Tool

  • April 23, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Collaboration is easily the best capability of the tool - being able to share this as a presentation and then using it as a workshop medium has changed the way that I work with my clients. I introduced the tool to my client project after we had started remote working during the pandemic, and it changed the client's insistence on coming back to the office. Because we were able to do the previously in-person whiteboarding and discussion through Miro and over Zoom, the client's leadership felt as though there wasn't as much of a reason to return to the office immediately.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't love the mouse options. I find that the mouse and trackpad options are valuable in different situations, and I wish that there was a better all-around use of navigating around on a board.
I also don't love the relative sense of sizing on the board. I'll make a board that looks like it is the right size, but then realize that I'd made all my items extremely large because of the starting position of the camera on the board.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In a fully remote working environment, Miro is changing the way more traditional clients are viewing their working setups. As mentioned, I was able to bring Miro to a client, and after realizing its capabilities, their employees said that they were more likely to want to continue working from home even after the pandemic was over.
I've also enjoyed the collaborative aspects of the tool. As a product owner, I created a custom scrum board that my scrum master and developers all could use and make edits. We've also used the tool for workshops to measure employee sentiment.

A Journey full of WOW moments

  • April 22, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like how effortless it is to represent complex ideas and how easy it is to collaborate.

The smart way of making a interface that is realiy friendly to use and instigate the exploration/experimentation.

I`ve being using for quite some time and i still have WOW moments when i try to do something with that mindsed "no way this is going to work" and it works perfectly. The last time i had that was when i try to copy and paste a frame from one workspace to another... And was awesome!
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing that I dislike is the plan's price. As an SaaS Service, I pretty much think Miro's goal is to upgrade free users to paying customers on a global scale. But the price plans they offer aren't based on the reality of countries like Brazil, India, etc; I`m the kind of user that would gladly pay from "my own pocket" to get the features of the upgrade plans if they could fit my pocket. Maybe a better offer based on the user's country would bring more money to the table and convert more users.

Another thing that is kind of enoying is the recent performance loading up my miro´s ... When im opening up miro in a conference call, sometimes it gets stuck in the loading screen for quite a while. It seems the quality of the performance dropped.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Miro to develop mental maps that align my thoughts with the team that I work with.
We use it as a communication tool as well, using as a calendar for the sprints planning and collaborating on brainstorming sessions
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking for a one-stop-shop, Miro is a possible candidate. It has everything that a modern agile tech team can ask for. The parts of the journey that they don´t solve can always be translated with integration top tools of the market and make the day of the user easier.

My favorite part of the day is when i can use Miro to solve my day-to-day mind map and communications with stakeholders.

Collaboration You Can Trust

  • April 22, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I was introduced to Miro through a online university UX/UI Design Boot Camp. I appreciated the program's collaboration capabilities, such as being able to edit the same artboard in real-time, create customized user flow charts, and insert pre-made diagrams in a pinch. I am currently creating diagram templates on a personal Miro artboard to use daily for user research. I cannot express how happy and excited I am to return to my Miro board if I need a reference diagram to look at or need to pick up where another colleague left off.
What do you dislike about the product?
A rare occurrence, but a lag in the software meant that our design team would have to do a manual page refresh. You need to pay to take screenshots of artboards in hi-res, but it's worth it if you use the program a lot. Another feature that can be improved upon is the Miro "drag-and-drop" image feature: the images are slow to load, they overlap when multiple are uploaded, and it takes a couple of seconds to reach maximum quality.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work in UX/UI Design, so Miro helped me organize important user information that I could then highlight and present to shareholders. During demonstrations, our mentor quickly created a form, then invited all of the team members (30+) to interact in the space. I'm happy that Miro is a learning and business tool; it is my go-to design space!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Miro is a great online collaboration resource. It is such a helpful tool, especially during this pandemic!

Best collaborative design platform

  • April 22, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Miro is the best collaborative tool I have ever used. I work in an organisation that needs to design new projects on a constant basis and Miro has been a major breakthrough in both generating better designs and communicating them. Additionally, its collaboration tools are simple, but sufficient and very intuitive.

It's not a function issue, but the clean and professional interface has motivated many people in the team to join.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some quality of life functions that are missing, particulary, a grid with automatic measurements.

Also more intuitive keyboard shortcuts and more collaboration tools will we a great addition.

There are some functions and templates for which Miro is not designed and for which it would not make sense to develop further. Although they look good and give the impression of greater richness, they do not really add value. I think less time should be spent on templates and more on functionality.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collaborative project design and monitoring platform. In addition, Miro works very well for designing visual products for presentations and working sessions.

The main use we use it today in my organisation is for the design and monitoring of social campaigns.

Perhaps the greatest benefit of using Miro is that the information is clearer and more accessible to everyone in the organisation. It is an excellent alternative to presentations, spreadsheet dashboards or even actual whiteboards - especially now during the pandemic.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are a person who thinks through visual concepts or need to work on complex collaborative projects, Miro is one of the best tools in existence for these tasks.

Very quick and smooth diagramming. Highly recommend to all engineers and designers.

  • April 22, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love intuitive it is draw boxes and attach arrows as well as overlay notes over the diagrams. This may sound trivial, but applications like Visio and LucidChart are much less intuitive in this space and their native applications are not as smooth. I use Miro mainly for drawing architectur designs for my software engineering teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the trackpad mouse functionality breaks which is my major concern. I'm unable to zoom in and out while in trackpad mode, but I'm still able to pans around using the normal gestures. This is the biggest annoyance for me because the trackpad gestures are much more intuitive that the mouse mode. Additionally sometimes for large projects, it can take a long time to load both on the native app and web portal. Maybe there could be a way to lazy load the frames to speed up initial entry into the board?
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I mainly use miro to design software architecture diagrams for my teams. The unified version control and collaboration allow me to easily maintain and utilize the diagram with both my direct reports and upward management. Centralization of communication has been much easier and it's been easier to receive feedback from people up and down the chain. An interesting feature could be to create a display/showcase page to show a specific frame or a series of a frame. I would love to generate README's through miro and link the individual frames or snapshots of frames in order to provide documentation centralization for my team. If we can get it directly from miro, it would keep it live and updated instead of manually updating the picture in the README.

Miro inspires my team's innovation

  • April 22, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Everything, We love the stickies, the voting feature, the templates, the voting. Miro is constantly uploading new features, and I'm still discovering all it has to offer. With every new template and I feel our creativity expanding.
What do you dislike about the product?
The video can be buggy & unstable at times and distract from the experience. There have been a few times when other users have been able to move my frames around the board, and that can be disorienting too. Perhaps theres a setting I missed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My team uses Miro mostly to brainstorm new products & services internally, do retrospectives. We facilitate strategic planning, retrospective, & brainstorming workshops for our customers, manage internal workflows with the Kanban, use the mindmap to sketch out ideas & marketing content. We use the customer journey template to work through our new sales cycle and customer journey. I feel like we are only scraping the tip of the iceburg of all Miro has to offer. As our business grows our use of Miro is growing too!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
if you are looking for an engaging and interactive experience for your virtual team and customers, seriously consider adding Miro to your toolkit!

How to create Disneyland

  • April 22, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
At first glance, Miro is an amazing concept. A virtual whiteboard that allows multiple parties to interact and collaborate. But it can be so much more than that. We realized that an infinite whiteboard could be organized like "Disneyland". With different areas of the board meant specifically for different things. All of them exciting and colorful. In essence, we created a cultural hub for our business.

Miro is a creativity accelerator. That's what I like best.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you have the paid version you get access to additional capabilities, but then you have to pay to invite clients to your boards.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We run various workshops including culture and strategy with our clients if we can't meet in person. Internally we use it as a hub of information and culture and place to interact and share ideas.

Mire is indispensible during Covid as the only real replacement to keep working with stickies

  • April 22, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
- The intuitive interface
- You can do so much with Miro. Workflows, brainstorms, speccing, you name it!
- I recently discovered that designing the specs in Miro and using color codes to follow up the implementation progress is a great and pragmatic way for small teams to work.
- It's so easy to create diagrams. We have loads more detail about our product, processes, and infrastructure. That makes oversight easier and the onboarding of new employees a breeze.
What do you dislike about the product?
- So far, the only thing I liked less is that there was no template for DB models, but we worked around that by creating our own.
- I noticed that it's not so intuitive for older people. I wouldn't use it in meeting where I know there are a lot of digital laggards.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- We can continue working with stickies remotely
- We are creating our specs visually in Miro, we create the flows and mark what has been completed. This makes it very tangible.
- I used to do all my work on walls at the office and with Covid, this wasn't possible anymore. Miro has been aan life saver.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just try it, you'll fall in love instantly.
