Miro is my #1 remote work enabler!
What do you like best about the product?
Miro enabled me to facilitate a 1-day, 3-day, 1-Month & 3-Months strategy programs, 100% digital & remote, thus improving my value proposition for my clients. Amazing & diversified tool.
I love the presets of frameworks within Miro. I love the UX/UI, and the way you control and link different elements together.
And the cherry on top of the cream is the Miroverse = the Miro Universe of shared boards, by the community of Miro Lovers. Brilliant.

What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was an option to access boards shared by others, from the dashboard.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was able to conduct & facilitate full-remote programs, during the pandemic.
I was able to engage clients with collaborative work, in a way that physical meetings I couldn't.

Keeping a Working Group Working through COVID Isolation
What do you like best about the product?
Miro allowed a group from multiple backgrounds to come together to assess gaps and find solutions to a complex industry problem. Participation during meetings allowed everyone to illustrate their thinking, connect to new ideas, and rate solutions. Between sessions, members could contribute supporting documents, build on ideas and respond to queries allowing for the project's momentum to continue.
Participants were used to collaborating inperson using visual cues and dialouge. Coupling Miro with Zoom, allowed faciliation that kept both the inperson feel and whiteboard tracking. Using the templates allowed the working group to collabortate on fishbones, track system experience and map soutions.
As a faciliator templates made it easy to prep for sessions, timers helped keep meetings on track, and visual tracking of particpants maintain engagment. The ability to add ice breakers to initiate creative thinking and hid e frames to allow generative process allowed for good tranistions to virtual work.

What do you dislike about the product?
Miro is available to be used on different devices; however, participants found desktop was the most user friendly. It took new users of varying technical skills up to three sessions to feel confident and comfortable contributing to the board. The limits of the online video conferencing within the platform created challenges. While commenting was applicable between sessions, the chat function within Miro had limited usefulness.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The collaborative working group was reviewing the distributed model of student internships. We were able to visually map out the complex experience and identify gaps and solutions to improve the programming.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
For facilitators:
- Include either a session or pre-work for participants to orient to the program before using.
- If expecting participation from a large group for a one-off workshop, it could be problematic if too complicated.
- Think about how integration with other meeting platforms would work, such as Zoom
- Use the templates; it cuts the work
- Start with a wireframe of your facilitation process, then build from there
- Add in Apps are valuable

Excellent collaboration tool if you can't work in person
What do you like best about the product?
Working together on a whiteboard while using the video chat function. The video chat audio is better than Zoom. Tagged cursors and the ability to follow eachother's cursors are extremely valuable. Drawing facilitated activity plans have been useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
The video chat can be glitchy and sometimes won't work. Also, it's very resource intensive so sometimes my laptop can't handle it which makes making any moves on the board difficult, such as zooming in and out to a precise place on the board.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've conducted feedback sharing session, brainstorming workshops, voted on developmental sketch ideas, wireframed and mapped websites. Being able to share work in a visual way and being able to share my workshop designing skills with clients have been valuable.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I don't know how to do collaborative and visual work without Miro. It has been absolutely essential to our business.
My favorite tool for online collaboration
What do you like best about the product?
I know it's boring, but, digital stickies! Miro was great prior to the pandemic, but being able to keep a solid level of fun collaboration with my product squad when everyone went remote made Miro an absolute necessity.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were more ways to communicate within the Miro board itself. Chatting would be a major unlock so that we don't all have to be on a Zoom to give instant feedback on something someone is doing in Miro.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving the problem of true visual collaboration in the digital space. Honestly, Miro was fun for us to use previously, but it has become essential now that remote work is here to stay for many organizations. There are very few other products that offer this depth and malleability when it comes to real-time collaboration of various types. We use it for kick-offs, product design brainstorming, and other brainstorm sessions we hold.
Miro brings us closer to clients than we ever dreamed possible
What do you like best about the product?
For me, the best part about Miro is the User Experience and the super simple onboarding! We have been able to onboard our clients using fun and engaging activities that really kicks off our sessions in style. Miro enabales us to bring that low tech, high tough feel in a very digital world, in the business of Customer Experience, we HAVE to deliver simple and effortless to our clients - Miro allows us to do just that, better than we could have imagained in a 100% remote business at the moment.
We have had the experience of a client loving Miro so much they asked us to introduce them to our Miro sales rep, talk about great first impressions!

What do you dislike about the product?
One gap for us is the roles and responsibilities - for example, if my colleague owns a 'board,' I cannot hide (or unhide an item). I'd also like the ability for participants in workshops to complete tasks in stealth mode, doing things in private and then all revealing simultaneously.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have been able to reduce costs by eliminating the need to travel, thanks to Miro.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just say yes! Miro will change the way you work, in the best possible way!
Amazing for collaboration, I run all my workshops with Miro.
What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to use in desktop mode, it has a lot of tools to make the sessions more interactive and it has very visual add-ons to improve the experience within the team.
What do you dislike about the product?
It seems a little inflexible when I need to collaborate with other teams. Most of them won't create an account, and it's not worth it for them to pay a subscription for a couple of weeks. This point affects some add-ons too.
Another thing is the integration with Jira, it seems like I only can integrate with one domain at a time, given I have many customers I need to admin their Jira boards as well, so it seems to me that integrations still need some improvement.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm having less trouble documenting workshops, even comparing with on-site experience (physical boards). Also, I can brand my boards a little better, which is useful when I'm running workshops as part of a sponsorship.
Makes collaboration over distance seamless and fun.
What do you like best about the product?
The user experience and the user focus, most of the features are very well thought of. The zoom function is perfect, aligning things is easy and also the range of options available to Miro is super duper.
What do you dislike about the product?
The locking mechansim of things on the board. Although I am 100% sure I have locked things before, others still can move things around. Second that Miro is not compliant to many of our customers requirements and hence cannot be used by so many of our customers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are trainers / coaches and actually run most of our workshops on Miro. Without Miro our business model would have been in big trouble.
Online Meetings could not be more easy with Miro!
What do you like best about the product?
I personally liked the different tools Miro offers. Its wide variety makes it the perfect solution for any type of projects a company would need to do. It is user friendly, so it makes it perfect for people who might not be familiar with online programs.
Another thing I like is how easy it is to move around the board. Shortcuts are quite handy for this; and that makes it so much better to work around.

What do you dislike about the product?
I was introduced to Miro because I was helping improve a process, so they added me to a team. I was amazed by Miro, so I decided I wanted to use it with my coworkers. I tried to create a team, but I found it not as easy as I would thought. It was asking me to upgrade my account, but I was not ready to commit just yet, for I wanted to try it out in current role within the company. I had to create a new account in order to create a new team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have been using Miro for decision-making in my department. We are constantly trying to find room for improvements, and by using Miro, ideas have flown so much easier. Before Miro, everything had to be done with old fashion tools. We would need to write down our ideas on a piece of paper, then talk about it and finally come up with those ideas that would work best. Now, everything is made online and on the go. Feedback is instant, and the most beneficial trait that I personally believe Miro offers is that it is visually friendly.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You should definitely give it a try. Once you have used Miro, using another software would fulfill your expectations.
Miro makes remote collaboration robust and easy
What do you like best about the product?
I like that Miro offers LOTS of built in templates for common business, tech and innovation processes so I don't have to start from scratch. I love that through the "Miroverse" of other users, I can also be inspired by how other companies and organizations are using Miro.
What do you dislike about the product?
Miro is robust, so it takes some practice navigating its many features. It's a learning curve that I think is manageable and worth the investment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I began using Miro as a way to digitally share post-it notes from an in-person innovation workshop. Being able to take pictures of actual post-it notes and then have them transcribed into digital stickies on Miro was revolutionary! Now, we use Miro for just about everything. I love that it is a robust place where we can be interactive, creative and collaborative when we meet or owrk asynchronously. And having a never-ending digital "whiteboard" means having ONE place of record for my hybrid team to work without having to worry about transcribing sticky notes or keeping files in multiple folders or drives. It's all in Miro or linked from there.
Miro Review
What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Miro is it was able to replace the traditonal whiteboard and stickes but still retain that tactile feel of having the physical board.
The biggest improvement by far is the flexibility that was recently given to allow non-license users to collaborate with a board. There are times when we need that level interaction with teammates or customers but don't need a full user license so you can get the vital feedback.
Miro is also very easy to use and provides continous updates that make the tool indepensible for a company of our size.
We started to use this just for Development teams but I gave our UX team a license and they were hooked on the ease of the tool versus what they have been using before.
I also appreciate the number of templates that are offered by Miro to get you started on a board. There are times where you are overwhelmed with how to approach the design of a board so it is nice to lean on the templates to give you a jump start.
I also like the Apps that are available to give a fuller experience with utilizing the tool.
Managing a board is also a plus. The ease of being able to select a group of cards and then move them around to create good looking boards without having to move them one by one is tremendous.

What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike about Miro is sometimes navigating can get tricky especially for a first-time user. When you have a good amount of boxes on the screen that you want to navigate sometimes using the mouse vs. directional keys took a little getting used to.
It would also be helpful if the font size would allow you to go beyond or below the current limits. There are time you want something to stand out or need a little more room for it to be on a card without having to expand the size of the cards.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problems we have solved the most with Miro is being able to do virtual Story Boarding and Braining Storming. As mentioned before having to do that on physical boards was the way we operated but that comes with its downfalls. For example, the board could be erased or the stickies fall off and get thrown away. Being able to have this as a virutal board that can literally be seen from anywhere was key during the pandemic.
With the pandemic, working from home is now a way of life and we need a way to communicate with teammates around the country and world.
Miro also allows us to have better visibility into what we are working on and gives us more transparency.
As mentioned our UX department has started to use Miro to supplement what they currently use. They may eventually ditch their existing process and use Miro going forward.
